It was our first time in St Ives, but not Cornwall, we have been making the five-hour plus drive since 2018. It was such a special week – what a gorgeous part of Cornwall. Have you been? We’ve certainly got the bug so many said we would and have already booked to return in 2025!
I usually pack for exactly the weather, I am quite strict but this year the weather was so indifferent that it took a little more planning. I’d like to say that I couldn’t afford to pack ‘just in case’ outfits which is my usual plan, but the reality is by the end of the week, there were a few of those still hanging on the rail as the weather wasn’t quite as warm as we’d previously experienced in Cornwall.
I wanted to wear my favourite beach vibe outfits like previous years – raw edge denim shorts and dresses, but it was a week by the sea and the weather forecast was quite indifferent so I had to rely on ‘outfits you’d wear outside’ in the sunshine, wind, and rain. Don’t get me wrong the sun shone more than it rained but often it was still cool. Too cool for me to wear shorts and we needed layers.
What I packed and wore in Cornwall
As I do for each holiday, I decided the best way to get the most out of my wardrobe was to plan. I look back at photos on my Instagram, I also have an album in my camera roll where I keep outfits I’ve loved wearing. And then, I write lists in my notes on my iPhone. Sounds fun, huh?! I swear by lists when packing. Here are the clothes I wore in Cornwall…

And that’s what I wore in Cornwall, hopefully you can take a small amount of inspiration from or help you in your planning. Look out for my next fashion post where I share what I wore on our Summer trip to Greece. And then it will be time for layers ahead of the cooler days, windy mornings and rain that seemed to arrive as we landed back into the country on September 1st.
