As we approach the end of the year, and another chapter coming to a close I think it is fair to say that this year has been hard on us all. That’s why I am trying to enjoy all the moments in between which bring joy. October is one of my favourite times of year – bright, crisp mornings, filled with so much colour. The sky, the leaves on the trees floating away, the crunch underfoot and bright sunshine beaming through the trees. Autumn feels magical.
For years, 7 I believe it is, I have been consistent in taking our monthly photo. It’s meant so much to me to see our little family change. This year things have felt very different. I haven’t been so good at capturing our monthly family photo, although I have at least managed to grab a photo a few times. The last time was in the month of October when the sun was shining and the sky was blue. I took these photos on our family walks, something we have carried on since the pandemic. I’m so pleased that we continue to share these simple moments together.
How was the month of October for you? Let me tell you a little more about the things that made us all smile. The one where the seasons changed…
ME AND MINE – OCTOBER 2023
GEORGE
Time spent with friends, watching his friend playing for Port Vale Academy after being signed, scoring goals in his Saturday and Sunday football, taking part in his cross country races for his School and lastly trialling for the School football team – he’s really hoping to make Captain again.
DADDY
Spending the weekend with friends celebrating a birthday, going on a date night dancing to 80’s music, taking Bob on long family walks with a pub stop at the end, supporting George at his football matches, nights out with friends and clearing out the spare bedroom in time for Christmas.
MUMMY
Spending the weekend with friends, going on a date night dancing, going on long family walks in the bright Autumn sunshine, the seasons changing, making plans for our festive days out and supporting George at his School cross country races.
BOBBY
A sleepover with Uncle Steve, new toys which he destroyed in minutes, rolling around in the wet and muddy grass.
Me and Mine – October 2023
Despite everything the start of 2023 has thrown at us I am so glad that we have still managed to capture our little family for the most part. As we move forward into the last 2 months of the year, I am hopeful for a brighter end to the year and start to 2024.
And so, as I press publish on this post, we are about to enjoy Halloween and Fireworks as a family during half-term before we step into Christmas. I can’t help but feel excited about the next few weeks. Is anyone else ready for the joy of Christmas to arrive?
