June was the last time I sat down and wrote a Me and Mine post. For years I have enjoyed capturing our monthly family photo and then writing a round-up of our time together. The start of this year really has knocked me off writing and sharing online. I don’t feel like I’ve ever got my inspiration to write and share back.
I said this in my April update, I haven’t been so good at capturing a family photo this year, although I did manage one in April and again in June. I guess life really has taken over and certainly stifled my creativity. Earlier in the year I did feel like I was slowly getting back on track, sharing our family life, my style, and of course, as the weather has been kind – the places we were travelling to and days out. So, here I am as we approach the last few months of the year, sharing some moments of joy from Chapter 8, the month of August.
The one where we travelled around California…
ME AND MINE – AUGUST 2023
GEORGE
Visiting Disneyland and seeing Goofy, riding the Incredicoaster x5, watching the LA Dodgers play, seeing the skateboarders at Venice Beach, trekking up to a Waterfall in Yosemite, cycling across Golden Gate Bridge and watching the Bellagio Fountains.
DADDY
Experiencing Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, taking a Helicopter flight to the Grand Canyon, visiting Las Vegas, watching the LA Dodgers in Los Angeles, and visiting Alcatraz during our time in San Francisco.
MUMMY
Seeing the Hollywood Sign, taking in the view of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, riding a cable car in San Francisco, spending two days walking through Yosemite, visiting Joshua Tree and relaxing by the pool in The Venetian and lastly experiencing the original Disneyland for the first time.
BOBBY
He spent his time whilst we were living away with 5 other dogs, long woodland walks, lots of treats, and cuddles.
AND THAT’S OUR ME AND MINE – AUGUST 2023
Despite everything the start of 2023 has thrown at us I am so glad that we have still managed to capture our little family for the most part. As we move forward into the last 3 months of the year, I am hopeful for a brighter end and start to 2024.
And so, as I press publish on this post, we are deep into the month of October, I can’t help but feel excited about the change in seasons.
