May was the last time I sat down and wrote a Me and Mine post, my first since the New Year. For years I have enjoyed capturing our monthly family photo and then writing a round-up of our time together. The start of this year really has knocked us off our feet and only in the last couple of months have we started to feel like we have settled back into life. Whether that’s finding joy in the small moments, adjusting to spending milestones and special days without Leonard, or feeling that it is OK to make plans for the future.
I said this in my April update which I wrote in May, I haven’t been so good at capturing a family photo this year, although I did manage one in April and again in June. I guess life really has taken over and certainly stifled my creativity. I feel like I am slowly getting back on track, sharing our family life, my style, and of course, as the weather has been kind – the places we travel to and days out. So, here I am sharing some moments of joy from Chapter 6, the month of June (and maybe May too).
Me and Mine – June 2023
GEORGE
Escaping to Cornwall in May for half-term and meeting up with his best buddy, taking Daddy to the seaside in St Anne’s for Father’s Day, celebrating his 12th birthday in June, getting a new bike for his birthday and having a sleepover with his friends.
DADDY
Cornwall in May – discovering his love for St. Ives, walking with Bob on the beach, spending Father’s Day at the seaside, more planning for our California road trip, family BBQ’s, celebrating George’s 12th birthday and Bob’s 3rd birthday.
MUMMY
Family and friends BBQ’s, enjoying the morning sunshine in the garden, getting back to Cornwall in May half term, escaping to Lytham for Father’s Day, making plans for California, celebrating not one but two birthdays in June for Bob and George and lastly catching the sunset on Fistral beach.
BOBBY
Running on the beach all week long in Cornwall, running on the beach in Lytham with his pawfuriend Wilf, birthday biscuits to celebrate turning 3, Daddy working from home as he can sit in the garden.
AND THAT’S OUR ME AND MINE – JUNE 2023
Despite everything the start of 2023 has thrown at us I am so glad that we have still managed to capture our little family during a really difficult time. As we move forward into the second half of the year, I am hopeful of a brighter 2023 and how it takes shape for our little family.
And so, as Chapter 6 of 2023 is coming to an end, I wish you all a wonderful Summer time ahead.
