A trip to the seaside was just the tonic.
As the long weekend approached, Mr H was on a daily weather watch. We were trying to decide how we were going to spend our time together but oh my goodness the weatherman was not being kind. Thankfully he made the executive decision that we would chase the sunshine, ditch our rainy home town and escape to the sunny seaside town of Lytham St Anne’s.
Our first beach trip of 2021!
We all instantly relaxed. It felt so good to be by the sea and take in the sea air. Bob had a blast too. One of my favourite sounds is the sea crashing against the rocks. And breathe. That’s how I feel at the seaside. We are destined to live by the sea one day. It is our happy place for sure. Who doesn’t love the sea air? And thank goodness we went as it’s rained for days since our road trip.
We all adore Lytham and St Anne’s. It has been our favourite nearby seaside town for years. We aim to take Bob with us on all of our adventures and mini breaks, and that’s why Lytham St Anne’s is brilliant. It’s dog friendly, the beach is split in two so you can let your dog run free without worrying about little people. It’s always a great walk out to sea.
And, it has the best fish and chips (we LOVE Seafarers) and let’s not forget the ice cream. There’s a really cute hut right by the chip shop that we always visit, it’s a must! Good times. Good times. I love that we have our little family traditions, I think we’ll be running through the sand dunes here for a long time.
One of the things I love about Lytham St Anne’s is that there’s more to it than just a beach. There’s the traditional Pier, gardens and a park, the sweetest beach huts, sand dunes, a promenade, a lighthouse and the green which is great for picnics. There’s a jetty and of course a traditional seaside town to wander through. We also squeeze in a drive through Blackpool too to see the tower and pick up some rock. It’s customary right?
It’s truly an awesome adventure. Such a great family and dog friendly day out. Take a look…
