It feels so good to be taking ourselves off on family adventures again. Especially with Bobby our Labrador puppy joining us. It’s been a few months since we felt the excitement and wonder of finding new places to explore. We will always have our favourite local walks but it feels great to be packing up the car and heading a little further afield. This walk wasn’t far for us at all, a 20 minute drive which is perfect. Those steps were absolutely worth it.
The Cloud – a dog friendly walk in Congleton
Have you ever visited The Cloud?
The vistas were incredible. The walk was interesting and different. Many different landscapes so you’ll need trainers or walking shoes. It’s roughly 2.5 miles – one for families, experienced walkers, beginners, dog walkers too – although we counted 4 traditional stiles so it isn’t suitable for all walkers, prams or dogs. As Bobby is young, he’s 10 months we didn’t find it to be a problem, he leapt over or crawled under.
It’s a circular walk so easy to navigate, sometimes known as Bosley Cloud. If you walk it on a clear day the views are breathtakingly beautiful so don’t forget a picnic and your camera. There are no facilities. And no benches but there are plenty of rest stops and of course the top of The Cloud with some very large rock formations to sit on. You can walk it from two points, one through the woodland and another up some very steep steps which was the route we took.

Do you have any recommendations for family and dog friendly walks? Specifically in Staffordshire and Cheshire, but if you have them in other locations I shall bookmark them in case we are ever on the road or on a weekend break.
Sending lots of love x x
