Welcome to a new year of this family portrait project
Despite spending the first few weeks of 2021 in lockdown I feel like the month of January has flown by. What about you? Maybe it’s because the weekends have been filled with snowy adventures or because we didn’t return to work and school until we were 4 days into the month. And despite my birthday celebrations coming to an abrupt end with the new lockdown announcement January went pretty well.
We have spent the month focusing on developing new routines as we returned to home schooling and home working. Finding time to enjoy our daily and weekend exercise. Sadly like most things George’s football and training were closed down. For his wellbeing it’s important he stays active, he really misses sports and the time withbhis teammates. As I wrote this post we were enjoying a movie afternoon on the last day of January which is a really lovely family Sunday tradition – one we all enjoy and always make time for. Especially when it involves tea and dunking biscuits. And popcorn.
And so, it’s the end of Chapter 1. Let me tell you a little more about the things that have made us smile, here is…
Me and Mine – January 2021
George
Sledging down Bunny hill, a mixture of in School and home school sessions, Zoom training sessions with his footballteam, Zoom quizzes with his football team and reading Wonder as part of his English lessons.
Daddy
Snowy Adventures and sledging on George’s new John Deere sledge, wrapping up warm and heading out on walks, cooking at the weekends and the vaccines finally getting booked in for his parents.
Mummy
Snow arriving at the beginning of the year, birthday celebrations despite being very different, my new Grensons, lazy weekend mornings, long walks at the weekend with Bob and home schooling George (despite its challenges).
Bobby
Long walks in the snow, new toys to destroy, sleeping on mummy’s bed, frozen yoghurt and apple and playing football with George.
And that’s our Me and Mine – January 2021.
Despite everything 2020 threw at us I am so glad that we have still managed to capture our little family during the strangest year. As we start a new year, our 6th year taking part in the #meandmineproject I’m excited to see how 2021 develops. It would have been easy to stop. But actually it’s already really lovely to look back on the first month of the year. I didn’t quite manage a full close up family shot this month but these photos make me smile so much.
Chapter 2 of 2021 awaits.
