Don’t you just love a slow weekend?
I meant to pull this post together on Friday but after a long week I enjoyed a glass of wine or two and an early night instead. The work days really are long and intense at the moment so forgive me if I’m not quite updating the blog as I promised I would in my last update. I must try harder. But, I’m also realising when I need to switch off and slowdown. Weekends in Tier 3 life and wet and super cold days mean just that, slowing down and enjoying much more downtime than we have been used to.
How are you all doing?
I’m definitely feeling the magic of Christmas; Bailey’s in my coffee, festive movies a plenty as well as planning the food we’ll be eating over the festive break. We also managed to nip into Marks and Spencer and enjoyed picking out some cards, a red sparkly star for our tree, Christmas crackers and last minute gifts for stockings. We don’t really venture to many shops but M&S always gets me in the mood.
This week I have been
I should say, this week we have been as it’s very much a family affair lately. We have been enjoying Winter walks to Tatton Park, decorating the last two rooms in the house, playing around with Buddy the Elf – yes he’s back! Buying the last few Christmas presents for friends and family. We’ve also enjoyed planning some festive adventures, watching many many Christmas movies – we particularly enjoyed Noelle and Godmothered on Disney +.
As of today (Sunday)… we have written our Christmas cards, opened our second bottle of Bailey’s, counting down to December 18th AND getting excited for Christmas. Despite everything this year has thrown at us we really do have a lot to celebrate.
Have a wonderful week ahead x x
Its been lots of quiet weekends for us. Enjoying walks and cosy afternoons watching movies. Being forced to slow down, is quite refreshing x
