Tis the Season
As the nights draw in, streets brought to life with twinkling lights and a diet of mince pies – I can’t help but feel excited for Christmas. It doesn’t quite look how we’d planned this year but in true Hargreaves style and like the rest of the UK and world we will make the most of this time together. I feel like the month really has crept up on us. As we approach the last working week and School week of the year I am really looking forward to immersing ourselves in all the festive joy and losing ourselves in our little family bubble. Quite literally this year.
The countdown is officially on. The elf arrived and has been bringing so much joy and laughter. It’s the little things. Thankfully George stopped waking pre 6am excited to see what mischief Buddy had been up to in the night. I do love hearing all the ‘elf antics’ stories on the School run.
And so here are a few of the little things that have been making me smile this week…
Feeling Festive
Is anyone else eating mince pies for breakfast? Seriously, I might have a small problem. I blame it on being seriously busy at work, instead of making my breakfast I am eating whatever is to hand. That’s either chocolates or mince pies. Anyone else? I guess I’ll be getting back into shape in the new year, a little indulgence doesn’t hurt anyone. That’s what I’m telling myself anyway.
Making Plans For Christmas
As we’re still in Tier 3 and unsure if we’ll be dropped to Tier 2 we’ve had some plans cancelled but thankfully we’ve managed to book a couple of festive activities that will make us all smile. To kick off the Christmas break we have booked the Great British Drive In – we’re off to watch The Polar Express and we’re all so excited. We’re also off to see the Fairy Lights at Trentham Gardens. We’re also going to be making Jamie Oliver’s Yule Log as a surprise for Nanny and biscuits for Santa. I think this year is about creating new traditions.
Winter Fashion
I do love my winter wardrobe, wrapping up in layers, wearing cosy knitwear and chunky boots. Let’s not forget the headwear, it’s one of my favourite things about Winter. I think I say this about every season, that I love the fashion. And then there’s my festive rose gold sparkly nails and matching hair which has become a Christmas tradition over the years.
Have a wonderful week ahead x x
Sounds like some lovely plans. I agree, I think it will be the new we make new plans and traditions. Christmas will happen whatever tier we are in x

Hopefully we can keep the magic going for George this year despite Covid and all the differences. Christmas is coming!
