Hello Friday!
Am I glad to see you. It has been one of those weeks. For a whole bunch of reasons, maybe because I’m feeling a little run down, a little frustrated and confused. Maybe just because. Anyway, I’m looking forward to taking long walks in the sunshine with Bobby and the boys, recovering from this cold and finding my positive pants. I seem to have mislaid them.
What this girl needs is cake and a morning in bed with a pot full of coffee and a magazine. I think I’ll manage both. I’m ready for a weekend doing not much at all. Anyway so here’s…
What I’m loving this week
Sunshine
Hasn’t it been lovely. I’m calling Autumn. The mornings are cool enough for a coat but oh my goodness by lunch there is no place for layers. It’s that beautiful time of year when the sunrise and sunsets fill our skies with such magical colours. Only last week was I willing the summer to hold on but something has changed this week and I am welcoming Autumn, layers and cosy knits with open arms.
Watching
A friend recommended that I watch Selling Sunset and whilst it isn’t my usual kind of show I switched on and actually it was OK. I enjoyed it actually, there’s been so much going on lately that I think I needed something to help me zone out. I’ve struggled to write over here. I’ve also fallen deep into This Is Us, which actually surprised me as in some respects its quite complex – the story intertwines between so many lives. I would highly recommend it.
Wearing
Layers, comfort, trainers, coats. It feels good to switch things up. And it’s definitely cool enough. Its cool and crisp despite the sun shining. I’ve even switched over my wardrobe, ordered a few bits which might seem a little premature to some but actually it feels good to see the colours change in my wardrobe.
Taking time out
Last weekend we went on our first camping trip as a family, we packed up and drove to Wales. We camped out with friends and had a great time. If only we had planned a third day. We walked for miles, enjoyed alfresco breakfasts and dinners, there was no mobile signal and it was lovely to switch off. Two days of free range fun.
Have a great weekend.
I’ve been feeling the same and I now have a cold! I loved This is Us, I couldn’t stop watching it. X
