Is it possible to beat the Coronavirus blues with a little style?

We all like to look and feel good right? I often find that my mood can be reflected by the clothes I wear. It’s as simple as choosing an item of clothing that makes you feel your best. Or at least it is for me. The best clothes really are the ones that make you feel good; if that’s lounge wear, Summer Dresses, joggers or gym gear. You choose.

For me it’s dresses every time. And as we’ve been lucky enough to have bright blue skies and sunshine for most of this time in lockdown, I thought why not. Why not dig out my summer dresses. And so, I set about wearing them for a day at my home office, home schooling and our daily exercise. Any excuse to wear my summer wardrobe.

I’ve dressed up for Zoom quizzes. I’ve dressed up for going to the supermarket. But actually, when I think about it I haven’t – because this is me. I wear dresses. Always. I did question myself. I had a few comments about me wearing dresses and not lounge wear. My Insta has been filled with folk buying ‘lockdown’ wear, and that’s OK but it’s not me. I cannot justify buying a new wardrobe because we’re in lockdown. My dresses are my lounge wear.

It just feels easier to wear what I already have. It feels comfortable. The process of getting dressed for me needs to be joyful. Wearing dresses makes me smile. So, I’m going to keep being me.
