Things I’ve loved this week.
The sun didn’t shine much this week. Although it didn’t rain as much as we thought either. So, really it wasn’t that bad. I don’t know about you but I’m not quite getting used to this lockdown life. I’m so grateful, that we have our health and that we are together but it’s tough. Everybody is struggling in some way and this week I have felt it. Which is why I’m sitting here looking back at the things I’ve loved this week. So, grab a coffee or as it’s Saturday a glass of wine and read on…
Watching
Two things. The latest series of New Amsterdam appeared on Prime. I wasn’t expecting it, and I’m so glad Mr H saw it. It’s a really lovely series. I’ve fallen in love with the characters and as it’s based on a true story it really hits you. I’ve also been watching Sophie Ellis Bextor’s Kitchen Discos over on her Insta and I love it. Such fun. Do it, watch them. They’re awesome and she has a glitter ball.
Flower delivery (ad)
Having a bouquet of peonies arrive through the letterbox this week was blooming lovely. See what I did there. The lovely team over at Bloom and Wild very kindly sent me this bouquet. It has been a joy to watch them open, change colour, close with the cold and open again. They’ve filled our morning room and kitchen with a gorgeous scent. They’ve made me smile each day. Gosh I do love flowers.
Lockdown nails
My lockdown nails needed a little update. I do miss going to Nita and spending a hour with her whilst she makes my nails all pretty. It isn’t quite the same using a kit at home and they definitely don’t last longer than a few days. I never really go so light in colour but as I seem to have caught the sun on my hands I thought the colour looked quite nice.
Dalgona coffee
Well, being able to have a version of frappucino is just lovely. I saw the recipe online and couldn’t wait to try it. It’s strong and super sweet but gosh is it good. Perfect for a little pick me up. Hopefully as the sun is back next week I’ll be enjoying them again soon.
Slowing down
It’s been lovely to slow down. I’m not sure the boys agree as they’re always desperate to be doing something. I’ve enjoyed snuggles with George before work and School kicks in. We usually only manage to do this on a weekend but as I’m not rushing out of the door before he’s woken we can manage them a few more times a week. And it’s just dreamy. As I always say, it’s the little things.
And that’s My Friday Favourites. You can look at last week’s here. We won the Zoom quiz last weekend so it’s our turn to host this week. George is taking on the role of quiz master whilst the grown ups dress up and drink wine. Hopefully Mr H pulls a good quiz together, he’s refusing to let me get involved.
