This week I have been

It’s been ten days since I last updated the blog.

Which of course is because of the situation we find ourselves in right now. There was a a part of me that couldn’t quite find the words, or take the time to sit and think about what I wanted to share. It has been a stressful few days. I’ve struggled on Insta too. But then on Thursday evening I got this desire to write. To document this time, it is worrying, unsettling and in some ways very scary. It’s an unknown time and I feel something we will talk about in many years to come. And so, I’ve decided to continue sharing.

I can’t help but feel that I need to write – for my mental health, for the distraction and the joy of actually updating what has always been my online journal. With a focus on the little things that have made me smile. A focus on family life, home working, home schooling and time with our furry baby. As well as some travel posts as gosh I am looking forward to when this Coronavirus disappears back into the whole it crawled out of. We will all be thankful of being able to travel, days out and of course when we see our friends and family. That is something to look forward to.

This week I have been

Wearing

I fear I may have less to share with you as the week’s go by, hopefully I can still grab an outfit shot even if it is a mirror selfie. I wanted to share this gorgeous Stacked Knot Charm Necklace from the Women’s Necklaces at Daisy London with you. Very kindly sent to me as a gift. So pretty and delicate and looks so good with my Spring style. Next thing is for me to layer it as I know it will look perfect.

Home schooling

We survived the first week of home schooling George. It’s been lovely, tough at times to keep him motivated, nice to be a part of it and watch him learn but gosh it’s certainly challenging. As both Mr H and I continue to work full-time and will do until this is over we are trying to stick to a schedule for George. Albeit one that does involve him playing football and watching movies. Because let’s face it we are not teachers and cannot replace the School day. I was pleased to hear him say on our walk this evening that he is having fun and enjoying all the extra time together. He has assigned us both tasks – Mr H focuses on Maths and it’s Writing and Reading for me.

Watching

Like most of the Disney fans across the world, we have been watching Disney + and absolutely loving switching off from the world and the news. Losing ourselves in the magic of Disney is definitely a win for this week. You can get a free 7 day trial before signing up, in all seriousness if like us and you don’t have Sky then paying £5.99 a month for Disney + makes sense, there really is an incredible amount of movies, series, cartoons and other magical treats to watch.

Exercising

This is as perfect time as any to kick start getting fit. I’ve been a little lazy in recent months having been supporting Grandad with his care plan. Thankfully he’s coming out of that now so it’s time to focus on me. As George is taking part in Joe Wick’s PE class each morning I’m either doing it with him or saving it until the evening. So far, so good. And, it feels good. This was such a great initiative by Joe Wicks and a great way to ensure children have at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. Well done Joe.

And lastly. We should have been enjoying a weekend in the Cotswolds as a treat for Mr H’s 40th birthday. Sadly that couldn’t happen so I do hope that we can rearrange for later in the year as we were all looking forward to it. Toasting marshmallows on the BBQ, a dip in the hot tub and alfresco breakfast, lunch and dinners.

Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy the little things.

I started this blog in 2014. It began as my creative outlet after becoming a mummy to our little boy George Archie. I started out blogging about parenting and over the years it has evolved into a blog that covers lifestyle, fashion, family and travel. Today TheKAEdit is ultimately a life and style blog.
