The Slamwich Club – Eating out as a Family
Last weekend we ventured out for lunch to a new spot in town. A treat for Mr H’s birthday. Having heard so many good things we had been waiting for an opportunity to try it out. I cannot believe we waited so long. What a treat. I can honestly say that The Slamwich Club in The Cultural Quarter, Hanley did not disappoint. It was fantastic. This isn’t your regular sandwich shop.
Great food. Good atmosphere. Fun and quirky decor. Incredible food. Tasty food. Different food. And let’s not forget the chalk board to entertain George, complete with a bucket of colourful chalks. Their strap line ‘serving up slammin sandwiches’ – really is the truth. The mixture of flavours were really interesting, I love how they aren’t afraid to try something different. The Slamwich Club also has monthly specials – Mexican style for March.
Finding a spot where we can all eat together, from the same menu and at the same time can be a little tricky as a family. Not here. The team have it covered. George had his own Little Slammers menu which he loved. For some reason we weren’t offered the free drink for George which was a shame as I did see other children taking advantage of the meal deal. Mr H and I shared a Spice Up Ya Life Sandwich and 3 sides – we went for Frickles, Caulipower and Strippin Chicken. They were so good. Almost as good as the sandwich! The portions are huge so if like me you don’t have a big appetite consider sharing.
The two girls, Steph & Nicole, born and bread in Stoke really have created a great place to eat and socialise with friends. I hope this place continues to thrive as it’s very unique here in Stoke. Usually we venture out to the Northern Quarter in Manchester for this type of vibe so it’s great to have it on our doorstep. Have you been? We’re looking forward to seeing what it’s like at night. I hear they give you Sonos speakers for your table. Sounds fun. And the cocktails look incredible.
If you were wondering, it’s a must visit. Our 8 year old gave it a huge thumbs up – great venue to eat out as a family.
And that’s my review of The Slamwich Club – Eating out as a Family. I would love to know your recommendations on the menu in the comments. And don’t forget to follow them on Insta as they do a great job at showcasing their food and drink. Great insight.
