It’s been a blooming great week.
Lots in the diary, lots to organise at home and the office, a cinema night at George’s School which I hosted. And then there was managing to squeeze in two School runs this week which always feels good. The sun has blessed us with it’s presence as well which was very much welcomed after a weekend watching George play football in the rain! Two wins for George this weekend, go team.
So how was your week?
And so this week I have been…
Writing
This week has been very exciting. I am now a columnist for Staffordshire Living Magazine. A local magazine. Obviously it’s not Vogue but I’m incredibly proud of me. Ever since watching Sex and the City in my twenties I have been a Carrie Bradshaw wannabe. Writing a Style Column. Well, at the beginning of the year I was approached and asked if I would like to write exactly that, a monthly Style Column. I’m so excited to share it with you. Here is my first contribution…
Photographing
I’ve wanted to grab a photo in front of this street art for a little while now. I love the flower wall and as it’s very near to my office I took the opportunity on Friday when we left for the weekend to grab a photo. And my trainers matched so you know, it was obviously meant to be. You might recognise the name of the artist Muck Rock, she has been shared all over the news in America this week as she has been painting murals of Kobe Bryant and his daughter in LA after they sadly lost their lives last week.
Watching
We have started to watch Deadwater Fell with David Tennant. Wow it’s a bit of a difficult watch. Have you seen it? We only have one more episode to watch but in all seriousness I can actually imagine this storyline happening in real life. I think that’s why I have found it so difficult to watch. And the suspense of knowing exactly what has happened is intense.
Reading
My new Red magazine. It arrived in the post and boy am I excited to see all the signs of Spring. Granted magazines are always a little ahead of time but it’s something to look forward to right? I mean pastels and florals and accessories. Next it will be sandals. Yikes. I think I’ve had this subscription for more than 5 years now. If you’re ever thinking of a gift for a friend or loved one it’s such a great idea.
Buying
I’ve had a little indulgence this week. Only a little. I always find this time of year really exciting as the Spring fashion starts to appear in my favourite shops. I love that florals and monochrome are going to be big this year. I think I mentioned last week, I’ve fallen back in love with black lately so it was no surprise that I snapped up this dress from Topshop. It’s going to look lovely with my mustard sandals in the summer. And the floral one is from my first love H&M. It’s so pretty. I’ve updated my latest style loves on my Wardrobe page if you’d like to have a little snoop.
And that’s this weeks I have been post. Have a great weekend. Ours include football, football and a ‘chippy tea’ with Nanny and Grandad.
