This week I have been
Recovering is probably my word of the week. Recovering from my 40th birthday celebrations with the girls.
As well as being super busy at the office, getting back into evening classes with George and helping my mother and father-in-law. It’s been a funny old week to be honest. Dark mornings and evenings are becoming a little tiresome aren’t they? I love Winter but gosh what I wouldn’t give for bright mornings and evenings. Hello Spring.
I can dream right? In other news, I had hoped to get back into my exercise and clean eating this week but after partying hard last weekend I needed a few days to pull myself together. I guess this is called being 40 ey. Anyway, next week. I promise. I’ve given myself until May as that’s when we’ll be on our first family holiday.
And so, this week I have been…
Enjoying a weekend away
I know I mentioned it already but last weekend we went to Darwin Forest for the weekend, we celebrated my 40th birthday in a Spinney Exclusive 3 Spa Lodge. It was awesome. The lodge was incredibly well designed, perfect for getting together as a group of girls. With dressing rooms and so much space as well as the view. Very special. And I feel very lucky to have been able to share a blog collaboration with my girlfriends. What a treat.
Feeling tired
Has anyone else felt tired this week? I think it’s been a combination of making up my sleep from the weekend and the dark and dreary weather days. It’s going to be a little while yet before we can welcome in Spring. I’m just a girl dreaming about lighter mornings.
Getting back to routine
Last weekend and this week we’ve kicked back in to George’s five football sessions a week which include two football matches on weekends. I do love watching him play football, although it doesn’t look like it on the photo below. Oh dear. I need to work on my game face. At the first game of the year there was a professional sports photographer, and when she sent the images out we couldn’t resist buying the digital images. They really do capture him right now. I am so proud of him.
Wearing…
It had to be sequins right? I saw this dress just before Christmas in Topshop and I knew that it was the one. And I cannot wait to wear it with a jumper and my Dr Martens. Maybe this weekend. It was lovely dressing up with the girls and heading out for food, cocktails and dancing. And of course the rest of the time we spent in our jammies or costumes for diving into the tub.
Instagramming…
Well of course right. I took the opportunity whilst away with the girls to do a couple of fun things to remember by birthday by. Which, rightly so included balloons and my sequin dress. We had so much fun, so much.
And that’s this week’s I have been post. Have a great weekend.
It sounds like you had a great time on your weekend away celebrating your birthday, I hope you have fully recovered now.
