My 40th Birthday: What I Wore
Walking into the woods holding 40th birthday balloons, wearing sequins and Dr Martens.
That’s how I roll. When I saw this dress pop up at Topshop I knew it was the one. It was Trending and sold out in a few days. I can’t resist a Topshop Trending Product. I was desperate to wear it with a cosy jumper and a pair of boots to toughen it up a little. I am so glad that I made a little impulse buy. Often the best buys.
I love the style, long sleeves, midi length and it was lined – gosh I do sound 40 now don’t I! I do love this style dress, backless and a relaxed fit, so as not to be figure hugging. That’s how I wore it anyway. Well, I had just eaten my body weight in chocolates. I couldn’t quite believe how much the dress sparkled and may have enjoyed shimmering the night away at Rubigo in Matlock. Sparkle and Shine as they say. Well it was my birthday. It really was a great buy. One of those dresses I shall pull out each Christmas and Birthday. Now I just need to wear it again. And not in the bath like at Darwin Forest. You can read all about my birthday weekend here.
It’s better to burn out than to fade away was the motto of the weekend.
And now to start planning Mr H’s 40th birthday celebrations.
As always you look amazing

Thank you lovely x
If I saw a dress like that I couldn’t resist it either. You look amazing in it. It’s definitely a show stopper of a dress.
