Why I Love Autumn Days
There’s something to be said for crisp mornings, bright blue skies and that Autumn sunshine which warms you up on an otherwise chilly day. Autumn has the best golden hour, the most colourful trees and hot chocolate with marshmallows. These days are my favourite. Wrapped up, red noses and cold fingers as we stomp around the grounds of our favourite – Trentham Gardens. Together as a family. Other than being at the beach and hearing the sound of the sea crashing against the sand this is my favourite past time.
Family – two parents and their child living together as a unit. Our little family. Together as one.
Family. Life together as one. The three musketeers. That’s us. Me and Mine. My boys. When life throws a curve ball or as it does sometimes and gets a little tricky to navigate I retreat to my family. Family is my place, where I feel safe. To wear we feel safe as a unit. Together we are stronger and can face anything this crazy world throws at us.
And so in a bid to blow away the cobwebs this is our saving grace. We pop on our winter gear, head out into the woods for a walk. We laugh, we run, we jump in muddy puddles. We listen as the trees rustle around us. As the leaves crunch underfoot. The trees take my breath away. The colours are captivating and the belgian hot chocolate, well that’s just devine.
And so, my thought of the day. Be grateful. Be grateful no matter how much life throws at you. Look for the simple pleasures. Spend time enjoying the little things. Regroup. Retreat. Enjoy the things that make you smile. Go for a walk. Pop a chicken in the oven, roast potatoes and eat dessert. A quiet style. Be kind to yourself. We’ve had a lovely weekend here. A weekend of two halves. One a little tricky. One of simple pleasure.
Ahh, I love Autumn days, they are my favourite and you have summed up my reasons why beautifully! A walk outside in the fresh air and changing leaves really does make everything better!

Its such a great time of year for getting out isn’t it
That photo of you and George together near the end of your post is gorgeous. Yes to sunshiney autumn days full of hot chocolate and long walks (much better than all this horrid rain we’ve been having). Trentham really is spectacular at this time of year isn’t it? I hope the tricky half of the weekend you had gets easier. Always here if you want to talk x

I haven’t managed to get down to Trentham this weekend, I was hoping to to see it all frosty. Decorating the house took over.
I’m so with you on this KA, it’s essential to have some simple pleasures up your sleeve to ground you when you most need it. Gorgeous colours and what a lovely day to get out in the fresh autumnal air! Beautiful. Hope everything is okay with you. xx
