This week I have been
Oh hey there weekend.
And hello there November. A new month.
My first This week I have been post of a new month. A round up of all the little things that I have loved from the week gone by. I had hoped to write this up on Friday evening but sadly I spent the night in A&E with Grandad. The weekend certainly didn’t start as we’d all hoped but thankfully he’s in the right place and I’m hopeful that we should see him home soon.
In other news its been half term here, George has enjoyed a week of glorious weather. A spooktacular Halloween. A spot of decorating, doesn’t everyone on the run up to Christmas? And of course a weekend of football. George played a great game on Saturday morning – he scored two goals. Sadly I missed it as I was with Grandad in hospital, hopefully he has a great game on Sunday.
This week I have been
Feeling cosy
We’ve hit the season of comfort food, movie afternoons and layers. Winter walks around Trentham Gardens with hot chocolate. Oh I do love cosy Friday nights, they’re our new movie night after George’s football moved to a Thursday. And let’s not forget Sunday afternoons snuggled under blankets. They are my favourite.
Updating George’s playroom
It was time to update George’s playroom, to make it a little more suitable for his age and size right now. He’s grown up so much lately, he needed a new desk and space to tick off his homework and School projects. With the help of Great Little Trading Co we managed a huge clear out and transformed his playroom. You can read all about it here.
Halloween
We managed to squeeze in a little fun with friends during half term. We painted a spooky plate at the Emma Bridgewater decorating studio and a little tea and cake for the grown ups. I think this may be my favourite plate that we’ve decorated over the years. It’s one of my favourite days out that George and I do together when it’s half term. We also enjoyed a factory tour which was so good. Really interesting and something I have wanted to do for so long but never got round to it. And during half term they were free which was a real treat.
Wearing
All the cosy layers. Slippers and winter coats. I’m in full Autumn/Winter force now and I’ve completely fallen in love with the time of year. I won’t lie I’m a bit of a season tart, I love them all really and enjoy finding the beauty in each time of year when the season changes. What’s not to love about the colours of Autumn?
Enjoying the great outdoors
One of my favourite weekend rituals at this time of year is to get out on a Sunday together as a family. Walk around Trentham Gardens, drink hot chocolate, breathe in the fresh air and then retreat for a cosy afternoon under blankets. Isn’t that what Sunday’s are all about? Well, that and watching George play football! Of course. Sometimes its the simple things isn’t it?
And that’s my this week I have been. See you next week.
Looks like a fab half term! We need to do the same with our playroom, the girls are outgrowing it. I hope your grandad is ok x
