This week I have been

Hasn’t it been a lovely sun filled week? Last weekend was the perfect weather for George’s birthday celebrations. We managed to sneak in a trip to the beach as it’s one of his favouirte things to do. He loves to walk out to sea – which in St Anne’s takes over 30 minutes until you reach it. A gorgeous walk and definitely the place to blow away the cobwebs. Despite being a little breezy it was worth it for the memories and the 2348 shells we now have in our kitchen. Bringing shells home from the beach is definitely a right of passage. Filling every pocket and spare inch of my bag.

I won’t lie this post may be centred around my gorgeous boy for the most part. That’s OK right? The month of June has mainly focused on George what with it being his birthday month as well as him making the final of the Staffordshire Cross County competition and of course his football. Football is quite literally all our gorgeous boy thinks about, quite literally living and breathing it, which is showing in how well he is performing.

And so, this week I have been:

Celebrating

As I mentioned, last weekend was mainly spent celebrating George’s birthday. His birthday party was a great success, he enjoyed the laser quest so much more than I thought he would. I was really impressed with the organisation of the staff, they really did control the fun George and his 24 friends had so well.

We picked up his birthday cake and cupcakes the morning of the party which had George all excited. He couldn’t wait to show his friends. This year he went for a Spidy theme. And just like every year Cathy baked the perfect cake. She’s so talented and interpreted his cake request so well. We have been eating cake for a week since. Next week I really must step away from the treats.

Wearing

All the summer gear and pastel shades. All items from my summer wardrobe of years gone by. Actually the white blouse in the last shot is a new buy from H&M. I couldn’t resist and it’s on sale! Just some quick phone snaps for you this week as I haven’t really taken any outfit shots. Life has suddenly got very busy. Well actually I think it’s just that we’re enjoying our downtime as a family in the evenings as the weather has been so lovely. So really I don’t have time for anything else. It’s not a bad thing I’m just finding the balance tough to squeeze everything else in.

Watching

Mr H and I have been catching up on a few series. I’ve grown a little tired of Love Island this year – it’s all the childish goings on with the girls. Honestly they all need a good talking to. So on the whole I’ve reclaimed my evenings and Mr H is no longer banished to the bedroom. At least the weekends anyway. We’ve been catching up on Billions and Designated Survivor. I do love Kiefer Sutherland and gosh Adan Canto is rather handsome isn’t he.

Splashing in the sea

Despite this being part of George’s birthday celebrations which I mentioned above, I couldn’t help but devote a little section of this week’s round up to the fun we had. Just look at him, full of life, no care in the world just a boy splashing in the sea. Isn’t that childhood summed up in a photo. Kicking water, some all over me, tasting salt water and generally having the time of his life. Take me to the beach. Life certainly is better by the seaside.

Feeling tired

With the weather being so lovely, busy days at the office and weekends filled to the brim with time spent with family and friends I can’t help but dream of July 19th. When we switch off for a week in France. It’s our first time disappearing as George breaks from School which feels lovely. Long lazy days in the sunshine, BBQ’s in the evenings and water park fun in the day. Fingers crossed the weather is kind to us. I’m hoping to explore some of Normandy also as I believe there are a couple of lovely beach towns nearby to our Eurocamp site. We usually have huge plans when we travel with a list of places to explore, whereas after a busy few weeks we’re actually looking forward to slowing down on this break. I’m really looking forward to moments of calm and relaxation.

Have a great week and see you next week for another This week I have been.

Oh what a lovely week and happy birthday to George. I didn’t realise it takes 30 minutes to reach the sea in Lytham St Annes, but I bet it was well worth it when you got there. Gorgeous pictures as always KA x

Thank you Tracey. It is a very long walk out to the sea, we’ve done it a few times and definitely an hour round trip.
