A Festival Sleepover Party For Boys

AD – Our party was on a gifted basis. I have not been paid for writing this post however as part of the collaboration I have been asked to share my honest opinions here on the blog

A Festival Sleepover Party for boys

He stood in this spot from the moment the lovely Rachel from SleepUnder Parties – Staffordshire finished setting up to the minute his friends arrived. Almost four hours. Oh George Archie how are you 8 years old? He was so excited. Look at him patiently waiting. Such a sweetheart. Almost fit to burst with excitement.

This was the first time more than one friend had stayed over. And best of all we kept it a surprise until Rachel arrived. His actual birthday was 11 days after his sleepover so I did worry it was a little too soon to kick off the celebrations. That wasn’t the case, Rachel made it very special. The level of detail and her own enthusiasm was super. It turned out to be a really lovely way to build up to the main event. I’d like to say it was a much quieter celebration than his actual birthday party but oh my goodness 4 boys were just as loud as 24 boys and girls.

Who said you can’t stretch a birthday out! We decided to start the celebrations with a festival themed ‘sleep under’ party. Although I did wonder if they would actually sleep. The good news is that they did! They were all fast asleep under their own tents by 10 pm which surprised everyone. The disco ball was still shining on the ceiling but the boys were sleeping soundly.

George has always wanted to go to a festival after hearing about his birth story. So we thought we’d bring one to him. This gorgeous boy was born when Glastonbury was on all those years ago back in 2011. Mr H was there enjoying himself all set to listen to Beyoncé on the final night when I went into emergency labour! Thankfully he made it home just in time for George to arrive into the world 7 weeks early! One year we hope to take him to Glastonbury but until then the festival came to his playroom.

What’s included in a SleepUnder party?

Everything you need and more. You literally won’t need to purchase any additional supplies unless you are looking to go for a theme beyond the standard festival theme. As part of the SleepUnder party you’ll receive tents and tent sleeves, blow up beds with bedding, bunting, fairy lights, decorative scatter cushions, breakfast trays, lanterns and LED tea lights, sleep masks, midnight snacks, LED camp fire, popcorn and cinema popcorn boxes.

All the little details are covered and despite thinking that I might need to nip out for extra supplies I didn’t need to as the boys had exactly what they needed. We added some of George’s favourite toys to each of the tents but other than that we were ready for the boys to arrive.

Would I recommend a SleepUnder party for boys?

Absolutely. Yes indeed. George is already planning his summer sleepover. The boys loved their individual tents and actually I think it helped them all to have a really good nights sleep. Each tent was personalised with name boards which the boys appreciated – they set up their own base camp as they called them as soon as they arrived. Having their own space made all the difference. And with the addition of a PS4 and a bunch of DVD’s, NERF guns and more they were set. Personally, I really like how Rachel had chosen a different colour and style of fabric for that each tent. It’s the little things as they say.

How does a SleepUnder party work?

It’s as simple as booking your SleepUnder party, Rachel or one of the team will turn up on your little ones special day, set up camp in a room of your choice and return the next day to take it all away. Honestly, it couldn’t be easier. I actually helped to dismantle the tents and couldn’t believe how quick and simple it was. Rachel left a box with spare supplies in which really put my mind at ease in the event something went wrong or the beds deflated.

I would recommend measuring the room you are hoping to transform as the tents were actually bigger than I envisioned them to be. Rachel and I decided to move some furniture around to make the space more comfortable for the boys. I am so glad that we only went for four tents as any more and they’d be in the garden! In a good way the tents were bigger and looked so comfy. More room for the boys to settle. They told me they were comfortable and the fact they all slept is testament to that. I think the eye masks also helped! Great addition Rachel.

Rachel was the perfect host. I would highly recommend booking a sleep under party. In George’s words it was awesome.
