This week I have been

Busy. Very busy. Good busy.

What a week it has been. Life in the office has been incredibly busy, there’s been early starts and late evenings, I wouldn’t change it for the world but gosh was I ready for Friday afternoon. I think I’m so much more productive when life is moving at such a fast pace. Throw early morning exercise into the mix and I’m ready to crash by 7pm on a Friday. Which is usually my time to start writing. Not this week. I’m definitely a little behind on the content I want to share but hey it’s all good.

This week George has been on a daily countdown to the start of his birthday celebrations. He is one very lucky boy and has not one but three parties.  He has a party all set for a few days after his birthday where he’ll be spending a couple of hours in a laser quest studio with his friends. His actual birthday evening will be spent with family at his favourite restaurant which we’re all looking forward to. And lastly, which I am so excited about – with the help of Rachel at SleepUnder Staffordshire we are throwing George a sleepover he’ll never forget. It’s his first one with a group of friends and oh my goodness is he going to love what we have planned. As I’ve written this post on Saturday here is a sneaky peek…

Spending time with friends

One of my good intentions for June was to make more time to see friends. Life really does get in the way sometimes. It took months to get this date in the diary and I am so glad that we have another date planned before the end of the year. You see, we used to be neighbours, live opposite each other actually. We now live some distance apart which means we can’t just pop over for coffee. The boys have grown up with each other and just like the grown ups fall straight back into old ways and lots of laughter.

Chatting on the radio

I did it. I was so nervous. I was invited on to BBC Radio Stoke to talk about Social Media. About Instagram. They introduced me as an influencer, I cringed. Actually, I really enjoyed it. Chatting to Lucas Yeomans was pretty great. He was a a brilliant host. You can listen to the show here if you fancy, I am introduced at roughly 17 minutes.

Watching

Well of course I have been watching Love Island. Who hasn’t right? I only started to watch the show last year so I don’t really have much to compare it to in terms of previous series. I have to say I like some of the changes this year. Men and Women or should I say Girls and Boys with different body types, granted not representative of all body types but it’s much better than previous years. And the adverts, have you noticed that there are various body shapes being included in the advert breaks when modelling swimwear and summer clothes.

We’ve also been watching more Tim Tracker vlogs, Because… we are planning our next trip. To California, next summer. I think we have the bug. Although this trip won’t be as theme park heavy as Orlando was. We’ve been talking about a road trip for a few years, and so we thought we’d combine a road trip with a stop off at the Disney & Universal Parks of California. I am so excited. The first ever Disneyland created by Walt Disney in 1955. So exciting.

Wearing pink

I remember buying this skirt for my Christmas Party last year, I loved wearing it all dressed up. Since then because I love to wear my wardrobe, I have worn it with roll necks, big cosy jumpers and now a Breton tee. I think it is my new favourite skirt, not only because it is hot pink but also because it’s silk. I do love Zara, they really do, do the silk skirt well. And, for me a midi skirt is a must for all seasons.

I hope you have a great week.

What an incredibly busy week you have had, but as you said a good one.

George’s party set up looked so cute, I think we are getting to the age where a sleepover may happen. Hope they didn’t keep you up all night.

Love that skirt for daytime wear, it looks so much fun.

Well done on speaking on the radio, I would be so nervous! The sleepover looks fab, my eldest daughter is desperate for a sleepover party. Maybe next year!
