This week I have been
Smiling a lot. Writing. Working. Juggling. Feeling proud of my boy for making it into the School Cross Country Team. I cannot wait for his first competition after half term. We’ve also spent a lot of time with Nanny & Grandad this week as sadly we lost Grandad’s sister on Tuesday. It was so very sad, she’s had a long fight and after a lot of pain and suffering the last two weeks she finally let go. She’s in a much happier place now. And to put the smile back on Nanny & Grandad faces we sent them to the seaside on Thursday for a long weekend. Hopefully a little sea air helps to ease the pain.
And so, this week I have been:
Reading…
I’m still delving into my Red Mag. I didn’t manage to read as much as I’d hoped last weekend but I’m hoping to correct that over the next few days. Isn’t that what a long weekend is for? We might be going to Warwick Castle this weekend so the car journey will be the perfect opportunity to indulge. I need the pink suit. I really do. I loved these bits…
Shopping…
I couldn’t resist browsing the New Look sale and of course there were a few things that went into my basket. H&M also have some brilliant Spring pieces hitting the New In section so again I may have indulged. Only slightly. If you fancy a little look at what I picked up then you can read my Spring Style Loves post here. It’s oh so dreamy.
Working flexibly…
This week has definitely been a bit of a juggling act for me. Sports day, Governor meetings, work commitments, after school classes, social media and having a bit of motivation to update the blog. Fitting it all in can be tough some weeks but finishing a week feeling like I have accomplished a few things as well as ticked off a big proportion of my to do list feels good. The house might not be spring clean but do you know what we’re all smiling so I don’t really think it matters.
Watching…
Like most of the world I watched the finale of Games of Thrones on Monday. Dare I say I was desperate for George to tire so that we could settle down and watch the final scenes of a series that has gripped us for 10 years. When I look back at the actors from those early episodes, gosh they were so young. I think some were only 12. Such incredible actors. And then there was the last episode of New Amsterdam, never has a series gripped me as quickly and resonated so much. Based on a true story which always gets me. I really struggled to watch the last episode, and I didn’t expect the ending. If you haven’t seen it then I would definitely download the series, there are only two seasons.
Taking photos…
I absolutely adore taking photos, and since the lighter evenings have arrived I find it so much easier to capture the things that make me smile. Whether it’s flowers, clothes, my boys. You know, the little things. Sometimes they don’t make it off my camera roll but at that moment they make me smile. I took this snap at a local garden centre last weekend, it reminded me just how much I love blooms. I need to take more photos of blooms, of pretty things. Here are a few photo’s that have made me smile lately…
And that’s it. My this week I have been round up. Have a great weekend and half term if you’re breaking. We have the balance of managing childcare arrangements this week after extending our trip to Orlando. It was worth it and we do have the long weekend ahead of us. Thankfully all is well and George is looking forward to an extended weekend with us, 3 days with Nanny & Grandad and then a day at his friends. He will have a great week I am certain of it.
Oh I love the Red magazine, I need to read mine. I still haven’t seen New Amsterdam – I need to watch it. Beautiful pictures as always, have a great week.

Oh me too. It’s a good one. I’ve had the next month come through now so really need to step up my game
We still haven’t watched New Amsterdam, next on the list. I’m loving the lighter evenings too, life definitely seems nicer at this time of year.

Oh it’s brilliant Laura, I hope you find time. Life does feel easier at this time of year
Love the blooms, this time of year is wonderful with all the new life and flowers. I am loving the lighter nights but am so hoping the glorious sunshine comes back and well done George x
