Me and Mine – May 2019

Me and Mine in May.

I think with coming back from Orlando a few days into May the month has flashed by in a bit of a blur. We were straight back into the daily routine very quickly although by the end of the first week we all slept in over the weekend. We escaped jet lag and thankfully all just slipped back into things. I’ve really enjoyed how we’ve spent our weekends in May, completely immersed in family and time with friends. The weather has been kind for the most part so its lovely to have kick started the bbq season with friends.

And so let me tell you a little about Chapter 5 of 2019, me and mine in the month of May…

A month of simple pleasures. Of time spent together at home. Of appreciating the little things around us. Of sprucing up the garden and buying a hanging basket – the joy that basket brings each morning when I leave the house is something else. Of being thankful that Mr H’s Dad, George’s Grandad has been given the good news that his aneurysm is reducing and responding well to treatment. Thank goodness. And then in remembrance after losing a family member, so very sad but we are all glad that she is no longer in pain and remember the happy 82 years she has had. Of organising half term with military precision, we made it. George made it. And gosh has he loved his week. He has quite literally been treated as a King by Nanny.

And so, here are a few things we have been loving in May…

Mummy…

Wandering around Warwick Castle, new hair, new nails, writing up some blog posts about our trip to Orlando and lastly shopping for a hanging basket. Yes I am that exciting *laughs out loud*.

George…

Visiting Alton Towers and riding Spinball Whizzer, getting excited for his birthday celebrations, buying Daddy a gift for Father’s Day, sleeping in his teepee and lastly having a great day at his Sports Day – he came 2nd and 3rd. Go George (I may have been that screaming Mummy, go team yellow.)

Daddy…

Having a couple of days in the garden, watching George taking part in his sports day, enjoying our first bbq with friends, spending the day at Warwick Castle and lastly seeing our furry baby running across the fields – after hurting his leg last year he’s not been as mobile. Running is his favourite so it has been lovely watching him running without a care in the world. Oh Alf.

And that’s this months Me and Mine, our little family in May. June is all set up for George’s birthday, we have the celebrations spread across two weekends and of course on his actual birthday. My boy will be turning 8 in 26 days and if truth be told, like every year – I am just not ready for him to be another year older. Have a great month and see you on the other side.
