What I wore on my birthday. My 39th birthday, oh gosh I’m nearly 40. Well it’s still 368 days away but it’s closer than it ever has been. And once again there I am overthinking, or is it excitement? I’m running with excitement.
On another note, welcome to my my first fashion post of 2019, what a treat. And Happy New Year. I’m not sure how many of you I’ve said that to. So here I am wishing you a fab start to the year. It had to be sparkles for my first post right? If you can’t wear sparkles on your birthday when can you?
This skirt was an impulse buy in the January sales almost 3 years ago now. I remember wondering if I’d find a way of wearing it for everyday. It is one of those skirts that keeps on giving. I’ve worn it to a wedding, although as a rule you’ll find me wearing it with a tee and trainers. And right now with a cosy knit.
I just love adding sequins to my outfit on an otherwise dull day. And when I say dull day, that was merely the weather and not the day itself. The day sparkled from the moment George woke me with my birthday cards to the Gin cocktail I drank over tapas in the evening.
No birthday would be complete without a few treats. Birthday nails on my birthday eve was a lovely treat. A pop of colour and of course it had to be pink – Pep Squad is the colour if you are interested. I also treated myself to a family planner from Emma Bridgewater – yes I am that rock n roll. But if you haven’t seen one before – they are just gorgeous. Awash with all my favourite EB prints.
And of course birthday’s have to involve cake. A scone, jam and cream and a good old natter with friends. And lastly, I opened up my emails on my birthday morning to a 25% discount code from H&M in celebration of becoming a year older. I just couldn’t resist ordering a dress in the sale ready for Spring. Is anyone else thinking about Spring styling?
This cosy jumper which I also have in a plum colour is one of my favourites. A gorgeous relaxed fit, a jumper that lends itself well to so many outfits. I have had oodles of fun styling this cosy knit. I love how it looks over my leather look leggings, with mini skirts, midi skirts (of course), dresses and when in doubt with sequins.
Jumper – H&M (sold out)
Skirt – H&M (old)
Looking fab x
Thanks Kate
