Oh hey there Friday. It’s so blooming lovely to see you.
I’m only in the second week of writing my Friday favourites and already I’m really looking forward to pulling this post together as the weeks and months go by. I might not manage it every week, as life gets busy but I’m certainly going to try. I think it’s a lovely way to write about and savour the little things that make me smile.
Life is worth living. The moments deserve capturing. The words need to be written. From the first day until this day and beyond my blog, this small space in such a vast online world has been and will forever be about recording the big and little moments.
And so, here are my Friday Favourites…
Catching up with friends…
Making time to see more of my friends was one of the promises I made to myself at the beginning of the year. I am pleased to say that already I have had two catch ups and in the middle of arranging a date to meet another friend. You can’t put a price on meeting up, spending time chatting, laughing, recalling memories and in my case taking a photo or two. Well, as I said it’s all about the memories.
Last weekend I took myself off to Birmingham to meet up with a group of blogging friends. In some way I don’t know why I use the term ‘blogging friends’ as I should just say friends. Yes we met online, have become a little circle through blogging, a safe group where we can chat about our blogs, life, look for support and advice, and generally chat to each other and be each other’s friend. It really is so lovely to be able to call upon these beautiful ladies whenever I need to. Thank you for being there girls.
Beautiful mornings…
There is nothing I love more at this time of year than the weather. Well, I take that back. What I meant to say is the bright, crisp and ever so beautiful morning sunrise and evening sunset. Winter skies really are my favourite kind. A bright blue sky, a balayage of orange and pink.
And yes I am a morning person, I just love setting the day up. Sitting quietly with a cup of coffee, going to my gym and starting the day with a positive outlook. I’m the girl you’ll see getting up so very early to take in the sunrise, or stopping the car to grab a silky shot of the colours in front of me. These are the little things that make me smile.
Blogging…
Since the beginning of the New Year I’ve really enjoyed writing a mixture of content for my little space. Whether it’s a family post about our promises, tips on how to style a slip dress or who’s behind the lens. I hope they all in some way inspire, resonate and make others smile. If nothing else, they are my therapy.
Read…
I’ve been catching up on reading some blogs lately as well as my Red Mag. I do love the pages of Red, their fashion pieces as much as the articles. And I love that Fern Cotton now has a regular column. Do you read magazines?
I loved Morgana’s post about Instagram for small businesses. Where she answers the question ‘do I really need Instagram for my small business?’. She shares some great tips for those questioning whether Insta is the place for you.
Fashion…
And just like that I have fallen back in love with a slip dress. A dress I have loved wearing for years. Short, midi and now maxi length thanks to this one from Topshop. And let’s not forget the tee, my favourite way to wear them at this time of year. And of course posing infront of a pink wall because it matched my hair and also because, why not? There’s more about how to wear a slip dress here if you fancy a snoop.
Have a great week.
