Christmas party season is upon us. Sparkle and Shine. I remember not feeling too inspired this time last year, I struggled to find something to wear in the shops. And so rather than regret a purchase I pulled a slip dress out of my wardrobe from the year before that hadn’t really been worn. I added a sparkly top to sit under it and hey presto I was party ready. And I have to say that I loved what I wore. That reminds me I must wear the top again. And soon.
I have this thing about not buying an outfit that can only be worn once. I remember the days when I did just that, so many outfits would sit in my wardrobe for months. What a sad existence. It’s really just a waste isn’t it? Of wardrobe space if nothing else. I guess you could say that’s me being sensible, whether that’s in my old age or because Mr H tells me that my shopping budget does in fact have just that, a budget.
This year was different. This year after stumbling running into Zara on a Christmas shopping trip I couldn’t resist this pink midi skirt. Well you know me and pink. And midi skirts. A silky midi and its pink – forever in my wardrobe, worn throughout the year. That’s what I told Mr H. And if truth be told when I first tried this skirt on I was wearing a cosy knit and knew instantly that it would be one of those pieces that I could wear day or night. I’m actually thinking that it could make a great Christmas Day outfit with a big chunky knit.
And so I give you my Christmas party outfit, perfectly pink, silky smooth with a dash of leopard print to toughen it up. And a sneaky peak at my gorgeous friends dress. Oh Katie that dress is a stunner. Sparkle and Shine. Oh what a night.
