My Top Five Favourite Looks Right Now…

My Top Five Favourite Looks Right Now…

I’m really enjoying writing fashion posts at the minute.

Writing them makes me happy and hopefully inspires those who take a little read. I am sure that we would all love to think that our ramblings in some way help and aren’t just read by our husband. Who am I kidding, I’m not even sure Mr H knows my URL. So I guess here I am sharing my favourite looks right now, hoping to inspire, fill you with confidence that wearing your wardrobe whilst remaining on trend is possible. And if possible highlight ways of wearing the same item albeit differently.

For those of you that follow me on Instagram – you probably won’t be surprised by my choices. I am on occasion a little predictable. When something feels right, right? Sienna Miller and SJP will always be my inspiration. From that first time I saw Carrie from Sex & The City swooshing through the streets of NYC in a tulle skirt to the effortless Boho chic that oozes outside of Sienna Miller. Style envy and looks I’ve tried to recreate over the years.

I love fashion, reading about it, wearing it, finding new ways to style my favourite pieces and of course occasionally indulging in a new items. What’s not to love? Fashion makes me so so happy. I love that feeling of getting it right, feeling good and like I could actually, one day have my own Sex in the City moment.

And so here are my top five favourite looks right now

Maxi dresses…

A firm favourite all year round. Who doesn’t right? One of the most versatile items of clothing in my wardrobe. Especially this leopard print dress. And two of my absolute favourite maxi dresses were picked up 4/5 years ago now from Zara and still wear them to this day. Zara really do know how to design a maxi or midi dress that stand the test of time. I wear them with boots, trainers, sandals, bare leg and tights. All year round.

Midi skirts…

Despite the cold snap I am still daring to bare my ankles. Maybe even a little leg if i’m feeling really brave. Failing that I wear ankle socks before ultimately wearing tights. For now I am yet to fully embrace tights. Holding off until December arrives. Wearing a chunky knit over a midi skirt just adds that cosy Autumn/Winter feeling that I crave at this time of year. I love seeing how long I can wear some of my favourite skirts for. And when it does move into winter I add a knee high boot to some and voila a new go to winter outfit.

Oversized jumpers…

Is there anything nicer than wearing an oversized jumper when Autumn/Winter appears? They go with so much in my wardrobe. From a pair of jeans, a maxi dress, a mini to a midi skirt. Simple but so effective. My brown roll neck from River Island is a firm favourite. And in a bid not to buy a new one I’ve actually just picked up a box of dye ready to change the colour of a mint green one I have. Hopefully it works out.

Mini skirts…

I’ve only actually gone back to wearing mini skirts in the last two years. Feeling confident in wearing something a little shorter. And I love the contrast with a trench coat in winter. I do have a blue denim one although during the colder months I opt for my black version, plaid prints and my old favourite – a leopard print skirt. Topshop are my favourite hotspot to find them.

Trench Coats…

Can a girl have too many coats. Seriously, that is the question? They instantly transform an outfit. I usually buy a new one every Boxing Day sale from Topshop or Zara. M&S have a great collection this year. Although this year I was very kindly gifted this brown version which I adore so in a bid to be sensible I won’t be looking for another.

And that’s it, my top five favourite looks right now. Would you add any to the list?

So many great looks and so many accessories that look amazing on you. I NEED that coat. It’s rustic orange and beautiful.

I know I say it with every fashion post that you write but I really do love the outfits you put together – you always look so confident and sylish. I love wearing skirts but I get so very cold in winter that it doesn’t matter how many layers I put on I can’t get warm and so for practicality I stick to jeans and jumpers as boring as that may be. I’m loving the oversized snuggly jumpers this year though I have to say!

Ha ha you do yes and I always think you should let me come shopping with you. And if you do wear a skirt then don’t forget to wear layers 🙂

Your coats are always epic and I always LOVE seeing that pink sequin skirt on you! It’s literally your skirt in my mind.

Aww thank you Heledd. Coats and skirts are definitely my thing. I nearly picked up a new coat on Friday but restrained myself 🙂
