Hello there.
Another week marked off the calendar. I said on my Instagram stories on Friday that I only have 6 more Friday school runs left of the year. Despite knowing that we’re in November I hadn’t quite realised how close we were to dare I say it Christmas! I do love the festive season but this year I don’t feel like I’m there yet. Maybe I will as soon as plans start to be made. Are you? Or is it still too soon?
I mentioned last week that I was going to write about our half term adventures – you can catch up on them here and get me I’ve also added a style post. Finding the time to write at the moment as well as work, exercising, all of George’s classes in the evenings is really making writing so hard. I actually think it’s the darker mornings and nights you know. God dam you clock changes but they make me just want to hibernate.
I’m rambling. And so join me in a little look back over one of my favourite weekends of the last few. It has been a stressful few weeks lately so to have a whole weekend devoted to making memories with my two gorgeous boys was just what we and I needed.
Last weekend…
What a brilliant way to spend our last weekend of the half term together. The lovely team over at Planet Ice – Uttoxeter invited us to join them for a day. To experience their family skating lessons, to grab a pizza for lunch and then enjoy some time free skating. It was a blooming great day out. Highly recommended. And despite George feeling a little unsure and nervous getting on the ice – with our coach Kris’ support he went from being scared to confident, happy and away from the side.
I cannot wait for our next time on the ice rink, we’re planning on a little session during the festive season and already I’m excited. Although that feeling like your still on skates a few hours after is a little strange it was fun. If you’re looking for a great family day out then I would highly recommend these family skating sessions
Wore…
My hats are unboxed. My winter coats are hanging on the coat stand. Im all set for the colder months although this rain can disappear. I think they’ll come in handy for all the outdoor football training sessions George is currently doing.
Made…
Mr H made this recipe from his new favourite cookbook Mobs Kitchen. It really is so tasty and fast becoming a forever on the weekly meal planner.

December’ festive Red Mag came through the post and I have really enjoyed indulging on my lunch breaks. Reading the articles and looking at all the sparkly clothes. So many favourites. And let’s not forget the Jamie Dornan article, hello Jamie.
Watched…
The fireworks at Alton Towers on Saturday night. We didn’t manage to ride any rollercoasters in the dark as the queues were silly and most closed at 5pm for the show however we wandered the park and managed to grab some food before watching another great firework and light show. They really do go all out and put on such a great show just like last year. Highly recommended although I think to get your money’s worth you’d have to spend all day in the park unless like us you are annual pass holders. The queues were so long.
And lastly…
We have a really lazy weekend ahead, we’ll definitely not as action packed as last week. George has his football match on Saturday morning and then we’re off to the Trafford Centre for a little festive shopping. No plans yet for Sunday which already makes me smile. As soon as next weekend arrives we’ll have festive plans and get togethers kicking in, I’m certain of it. Eek. The festive season is upon us, it really does feel like it has crept up on me this year.
Have a great week and see you on the other side.
Christmas really does seem to have snuck up on us this year. Like you, I know we’re in November, but how on earth did we get here so quick and why is Christmas just around the corner already!?! It’s crazy! We have a few festive plans, but I still don’t know what we’re up to on Christmas Day. We were planning a quiet one, but I feel bad if I don’t invite everyone and their uncle over. Here’s to getting those festive plans nailed in the coming weeks!
I love your pics of last weekend. It looks like you had an absolute blast. Mr H looks like he’s had ballet training. That stance on the ice! Hope George’s match went will this morning and enjoy your festive shopping trip x
Oh it has hasn’t it, glad it isn’t just me. The match went really well, george scored two goals. We always have Christmas Day at home the Boxing Day we get dressed up and head out x
Oh man I have been drooling over that sparkly Warehouse skirt for a bit. Might have to scoop it up quickly before it’s all sold out. I love the hats and coats stash you have. Or collection I should call it. I have been going through and seeing that I need to invest in nicer winter coats. I have my puffer coat run coat but not any nice trench style coats. It’s next on my fashion list. Hope you had a wonderful weekend.
I think it’s important to invest in coats, I tend to get 1 new one a year and re sell those that I haven’t worn x
I cant believe how this year has flown and I am planning Christmas its crazy, its seems like one minute it was summer and then its Christmas ! The fireworks looks fab we didn’t go to a display this year as we were away and I feel I missed it even though we were busy. I blooming love iceskating its something I would have liked pursue as when I was a teen I was so confident on the ice but then my mum and dad moved us up North and there was no local rink x
Oh I agree lovely, the last few weeks since our holiday in September has flown by x
That fireworks show looks amazing, we have annual passes, something for us to think about next year. We love going ice skating, its my girls favourite thing to do x
It really was, this is our second year. Such a great event x
