A lazy weekend, Hospital visits & Sun-filled School runs {Weekly round up}

Hey there.

What a week it has been. Full of suspense and worry. My father-in-law, Mr H’s Daddy and George’s Grandad had heart surgery on Tuesday after being diagnosed only two weeks ago with an Aortic aneurysm. Due to the size of the mass he had to have surgery almost immediately but thankfully after the longest five hours of him surgery we received the news that everything went well.

And best of all we heard today that he will be home for the weekend. I mentioned on my Instagram that George’s School were so supportive after he got a little upset on Tuesday, they lit a candle during the School assembly for Grandad and said a prayer. How lovely, what a beautiful and kind act. I really do think we have the best school for George. They really do treat all of their children like family.

We have finally booked our accommodation for Disney World next year. I am so excited – I cannot believe it’s only 6 months until we go. Which is a good few months but it’s one of those holidays that takes so much planning. I am so glad that our accommodation is booked as it’s taken Mr H months of trawling sites but thankfully Air BnB came up with a gorgeous Condo which looks so cosy and modern. And now it’s on to planning a rough itinerary for our park days. Yay. There’s so much to see and do. Any tips would be great? Must see’s, places to eat, day trips outside of the parks.

Heard…

Shallow from the A Star Is Born soundtrack – it’s a really beautiful song. Have you heard it? I cannot wait to see the movie. I hear a box of tissues is in order as it gets quite sad.

Watched…

We went to the cinema last weekend to watch First Man – all about Neil Armstrong and his journey to becoming the first man to walk on the moon. What an incredible movie. We all enjoyed it. A little slow in parts but really insightful, even George was wowed. I was transfixed. What a mastermind he was and despite all the tragedy he witnessed he stayed strong and achieved so much. After watching the movie we have decided that we’ll make a trip over to the Kennedy Space Center whilst we are in Orlando – there’s even a launch during the time we are there, wouldn’t it be amazing if we could visit on that day.

I also went to the Theatre on Monday evening with a friend to watch and review Dirty Dancing. I’ve written a few words about it if you fancy a snoop, some gorgeous photos of the cast too.

Wore…

Always my favourite part of this weekly post. Although if truth be told I haven’t much to share with you at all this week. Sorry about that. I do hope to change that next week. So it was all the cosy feels last weekend. Nothing but my casual gear and pyjamas. Some days there just isn’t a reason to get dressed and leave the house is there? I did pop on my tulle skirt (see above) for a little trip to the theatre. If you fancy reading a little more about Fashion then I have added a new post all about my ‘Style Rules’ which you can read here if you fancy a snoop.

Made…

We had friends over on Sunday afternoon for a little play date and dinner. Mr H made the Hairy Bikers Chicken & Tarragon Pie which is one of my favourites. Home comforts at its best. We need to do this morning often, the boys were playing and the adults enjoyed a good old natter. A great way to end the weekend and a great distraction to the beginning of a new week.

This weekend…

Mr H and I are off on a little date night this evening (Friday) to watch A Star Is Born. I am so excited. I’ve heard such great things. I love both Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, I think it’s going to be incredible and quite sad at the same time. We always go to the cinema as a family so it’s going to be lovely to watch something just for us. And then tomorrow we have George’s first football match, I am definitely going to be that mum stood on the sidelines cheering on my boy. His own official cheerleader, that’s ok right?

Have a great weekend and I hope the weather stays dry and bright for you.

    I’m also quite jealous of your Disney World trip, it’s something I’d like to do with my boys before they get too old
