What a week. The parenting juggle of the summer holidays has kicked in this week, we had one morning of tears but thankfully that very quickly changed and Friday was full of smiles. Nanny and Grandad were left exhausted by Wednesday and I completely forgot about packing a lunch for sports club on Thursday & Friday – nothing like the last minute dash to the shops the night before. Its’ a juggle for real and despite the tears one morning I do feel like we have the balance right this year. I’ll just keep telling myself that. I hope next weeks goes just as well.
On another note and I don’t want to sound like a complete idiot, or someone that’s overly boastful but I finally took progression photo’s from my training on Friday morning. I feel so proud. After focussing on my exercise for the last twelve weeks, my diet for the last five of those – I really have surprised myself and my personal trainer. My close friends have been so supportive and so happy for me. I have fallen back in love with my circuit training and oh my goodness I would go as far to say that I am addicted to spinning classes. I am so happy that I have committed to the schedule and done it for myself. I wasn’t happy and knew that my body and confidence wasn’t at its best. I did it for me. I have always loved fitness but lost my way a little. I’m not quite ready to share the photo’s online and if truth be told I am not sure people would want to see them but the self confidence and feeling inside has left me smiling all day long.
In other news here are a few things I have been loving this weeks…

As the new month turned my Red Mag made it’s way through my door and I’ve already started to make a dent in it. I loved the article by Erica Davies who is one of my favourite Instagrammers – I only wish I had her gumption. As well as the article by the Mother & Father of Daughters duo. I loved their honesty and how different their answers were to the same questions.
Watched…
Thank goodness Love Island has finished. For the most part I enjoyed it but gosh it was so lovely to watch a film on Wednesday. We watched The Mountain Between Us with Kate Winslet and Idris Elba. Wow what a blooming great movie. I wasn’t sure at first but so glad that I put my phone down and focussed on it. We even managed to start watching the new series of Shooter, I forgot just how much I loved it. I would go as far to say that I have seriously missed watching a series.
Beauty products…
The lovely Mumsy Box have sent me another monthly subscription box which arrived just on the right day. It was so clammy outside that I couldn’t wait to spray this face mist on me, instantly refreshing and it smelt so lovely too. I tried the lavender spray on George’s pillow and it is safe to say that he slept well, a whole 13 hours. This website offers something so lovely as a gift, £10 each month for a subscription service. The perfect me time treat and isn’t it lovely that you don’t know what you are getting each month?
Made…
Lamb and protein cottage cheese kebabs. I must find the recipe for you. I’ll come back with it for those interested. And oh my goodness they are so good and such a treat of an evening. The red cabbage is super tasty and has a wicked zing from the dressing. I also made myself a Gin cocktail on Sunday evening and really, really enjoyed it. Gordons Pink Gin and Fentimans Rose Lemonade is just lovely and so refreshing.

I have been wearing these little pieces of jewellery which oNecklace sent to me a few days ago. It is all I have worn since they arrived. I am so in love with them. They are a gorgeous little personalised jewellery company and I can honestly say that I haven’t come across rings like this before. For those of you that know me well will know that I love finger jewellery, always found stacking rings or quite literally wearing them on every finger. Especially when they come in Rose Gold. And the necklace, I had it personalised with a G and an A for George and Alfie our furry baby. I love that I have this around my neck every day, it’s my new favourite to wear and such a great length.
And lastly…
Other than packing, packing again, trying on and deciding what to take and not to take on holiday we are also heading into Manchester this weekend in search of the Bee’s. George is so excited. I’m hoping we have time to nip over to the Northern Quarter as well to grab some lunch. I do love Mackie Mayors. I think we may even head over to Alton Towers on Sunday with our friends for one last trip of the summer holidays before we head off to Spain. Have I mentioned it’s only two weeks now.
I hope you have a super week. See you on the other side.
Those kebabs look delicious! I couldn’t get into Love Island this year, gave up on it around week 3. I’m loving that dress, it has pockets #winning
They were super tasty, I enjoyed it but won’t rush back next year x
You are looking fab and the Kebabs look amazing, I remember the juggle well, but I bet George is having an amazing time with Nanny and Grandad. I love spinning I love how it makes me feel after a class, its hard work but so rewarding x
Thank you sweetie. The kebabs were very tasty. George is happiest when he is with his friends so its been great that Nanny has been meeting up with a friend as well x
Well done on falling in love with exercise again. I feel very similar and I’m not happy or confident with my body at the moment. With my youngest starting school in September I’m hoping I can find some time to do something about it. It sounds like you’ve got a good balance for George, the summer holidays are a tough one!
Thank you Laura, it has definitely made a difference to how I feel about myself. There’s a 9.30am class at my training which I would do if I worked from home or didn’t work. George doesn’t miss me when I train so early which definitely works for me. I hope you manage to get back into something for you x
I need to get back to my swimming as not been for a few weeks and I definitely feel more sluggish. Love the sound of the treat box, I keep meaning to try one as I love the idea of getting a little surprise through your letterbox each month. Hope you had a brilliant time in Manchester and Alton Towers x
Exercise has that magic power of waking you up and giving you more energy I think. The boxes are super cute and I do love to have a surprise x
