When I first heard about Coca-Cola Great Britain’s ParkLives initative and their free days out for the family, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Free activities every day for everyone during the Summer just seemed too good to be true. After chatting to the team and reading up about what there is available in our local area it really is such a great initiative. And apparently this is the third year, how have I missed this? The team have partnered with local councils and sports clubs to offer a whole host of events. And they’re all FREE. And so when the opportunity arose to cover one of their events and share it with you George and I jumped at the chance.
I think it’s safe to say that often the simplest of days out create the best memories. So, grab a picnic, a blanket and a ball and head out to your local park. Before doing that though don’t forget to check out what ParkLives events are running local to you and if there are any you can join in with. From stay and play events to a ‘fun day’ which we went to, fishing, Tai Chi, boogie beats and more. You won’t be disappointed.
Let me tell you how our afternoon went…
From crazy golf (he won twice!), exploring an army truck, dancing to music, sparkly tattoos, ice cream to a game of football on the field making new friends my seven year old was entertained from start to finish. Lots of smiles and so much laughter. You can take a look at all the fun we had by hopping over to my Instagram and watching the ‘Days Out’ highlight on my profile.
As we went to a fun day rather than a specific event we did pay for some activities. We had so much fun exploring one of our local parks, making new friends and enjoying a couple of hours just me and him. I wouldn’t hesitate in going along to another event. What great fun and perfect for the summer holidays when entertaining little ones can be so expensive.
