A letter to my boy on your last day at Infants School…

A letter to my boy on your last day at Infants School...

And so the final day of school has arrived. Or as they say… Schools out for summer. Oh George Archie you are my sunshine on a rainy day. Your face in this photo, the happiness in your smile, that cheeky laugh sums up your personality so well. You are the sweetest little boy, with the kindest nature and and sensitive soul. You found your leavers assembly so hard yesterday but you got through it, it’s ok to cry sweetie, I will always be the one to wipe away your tears and just like yesterday Daddy will be the one to make you laugh and distract you. Here’s to your summer, to you working so hard in Year 2 and earning the big surprise Daddy has for you.

We have a great summer planned for you and most of all are counting down the days until we fly away to Espana to enjoy 16 days of nothing but beach days, pool time and tapas. Surprise play dates with your friends to break up the time spent with Nanny eating cake and Sports Club. And even though you are trying to be brave by going to Sports Club on your own this year, some days I have arranged for a different friend to be there to surprise you. I hope you like that little surprise sweetie as I know you don’t like to be there without a friend.

I’m sorry that one of us cannot be at home with you for the holidays. I hope you know that mummy and daddy work incredibly hard so that we can enjoy all the little things, the days out, the holidays and the treats. As a special treat, for me as much as you I have two cheeky mummy and son days with you which I am really excited to surprise you with. What shall we do? I am certain those days will involve kicking a ball on the field, the simplest of things are what sum up this little boy. That and a love of football and Marvel.

Since the day you started school, despite it being a little too soon for you after just turning 4 years old you have wowed us with your strength, your conviction and inner belief. You give everything a try. And whilst you naturally look towards sports rather than learning in a classroom you have pushed so many boundaries this year George Archie. And oh my goodness you have blown us and your teachers away. We are all so proud of you George Archie, so proud.

We love you to the moon and back x x
