What a month June has been. So much sunshine. So many celebrations. A gorgeous month. Is anyone else dreaming of this unprecedented weather staying with us until 5th September when the schools return? When June arrived I felt a wave of emotion come over me, you know that feeling when you look at your sleeping baby and think how did they get so big? That was me for the whole of June. The last few weeks have been so busy, what with George’s birthday falling mid week we split the celebrations over two weekends with the final part of his birthday fun happening this weekend at Legoland. We always knew that June would be a busy month for our little family so in some ways after a busy May as well I am quite looking forward to the calm of July.
And what about this sunshine? After enjoying a record breaking hot hot hot April and May I couldn’t quite believe our luck to be falling into June with the promise of more sunshine. It really is such a treat to be finishing a working day knowing that we can head out together. And isn’t this the longest time I can remember the sun hanging around. Well we’re definitely making good use of our summer wardrobes aren’t we. I haven’t really managed to grab full family photo’s this month, our weekends have just been so busy and you know when you’re in the moment rather than capturing the moment. That’s how June has been for our little family.
And so here is our little family in a few words and photos from the month of June…
Daddy is loving…
Watching England in the sunshine with a beer, BBQ’s with our friends, birthday celebrations with friends, riding The Wickerman and celebrating George’s birthday.
George is loving…
His birthday cake and cupcakes, opening his birthday presents, his favourite being a Nintendo DS, BBQ’s with his best buddy and watching England in his strip of course!
Mummy is loving…
Sun filled evenings, getting back into my training and healthy eating, watching Love Island and George’s birthday evening request of pizza and playing football at our local park.
.
I hope you have a gorgeous July and start to the summer holidays guys. July is generally a quiet month for us, mainly getting over all the fun of June and preparing for our summer holiday. The next time I write this post my little boy will have completed his final year at Infants School, oh my goodness how is he 7? I can’t help but think it will be Christmas before we know it. This year really has flown by. Such a cliche thing to say but in all seriousness how is it the beginning of the second half of the year already? I’m hoping the summer goes by at a snails pace, is filled with sunshine and fun for George at his sports club before we escape to Espana for the last two weeks of the break.
I have added this post to Lucy’s #meandmineproject over on her blog Dear Beautiful.
Birthdays and end of the school year so much going on in June for celebrations and summer fairs and all sort isn’t there? I feel like come July my brain is spinning and I need the holiday to come quicker. I can’t wait for America this year. These are so gorgeous too. That one of G and his Daddy is brilliant you always get the best angles and best shots. Come teach me your tricks 🙂 I should say more of your tricks you teach me loads already.
