Welcome guys, to my first Wardrobe Edit. I’m quite excited to share more fashion content with you although in a slightly different format than usual. I usually like to start a new project at the beginning of a year, I’ll admit that it has taken me since then to pluck up the courage to put myself in front of the camera. And after some really lovely friends in the blogging community giving me the boost or should I say kick up the bum I needed – I did it. I took myself off to the shops, picked up a tidy rail (because I like everything to be organised and look pretty of course) and sat in front of the camera. Did I enjoy it? I did, don’t get me wrong I need to practise more, ramble less, be more creative with how I shoot and well buy more clothes so that I can do it all again in March.
I wanted to talk a bit about spring layers, the transition from Winter to Spring – which is a favourite season of mine, share some of my favourite outfits with you that I have been loving the last few weeks and lets not forget show you a few of my must have accessories.
A friend recently asked why I love Spring so much – it’s simple really, to me Spring is the season where I can combine all of my favourites from my winter and summer wardrobe. There’s nothing quite like resurrecting your favourite midi dress, ditching the tights, adding a layer and if I’m really lucky popping on a pair of sunglasses because the sun is so bright.
As I filmed this Wardrobe Edit it felt like Spring, the sun was shining, there were no tights in sight and my ankles were bare. And then some two days later as I write this blog post I am reminded that it is indeed still winter and my big cosy knit is draped around my shoulders as the rain falls through the snug window. I am willing Spring to arrive.
And so here goes…
Thanks for watching! And so, as promised here are a few photos of some of the outfits I talked about in the video, my February favourites look a little like this…
A denim skirt…
A pinafore dress…
A midi skirt…
Polka dots…
All the pretty little things…
And there you have it, my first Wardrobe Edit. Do let me know in the comments if there is anything you’d like me to include next month and thanks again for popping by.
Loved your video KA, can’t wait to see some more. I really like your style and I wish I could pull out the pleated skirt like you do! I also bought that midi dress from Zara a couple of years ago but ended up returning it cause it was super long on me, such a shame, it’s a gorgeous dress.
Thank you Elena that is so lovely of you to say. Oh you did, its my most favourite midi dress I’m just sad they haven’t made anything exactly the same but a different print x
Well done KA. I loved it. As I’ve said before I love your style and would really love to step out of my comfort zone and pay more attention to my fashion. I seem to love stuff but just think that it wouldn’t suit me or I couldn’t pull it off. I’m looking forward to next months already x
Thanks so much Gemma, it took some encourage but I made it and I think it’s ok. If you ever need some help just let me know x
I love this post KA!! I was planning on doing a similar thing this year funnily enough; I was all geared up to do a monthly vlog — for #thismamawear — but circumstance dictated otherwise for January and I’ve lost my momentum!! I loved watching you on the film — I think you’re very natural. Well done for pushing yourself out of your comfort zone lovely!! CX
Aww thank you lovely. Oh you were, you must my love. Lets do something together! x
You look fabulous! I love that you pick out some really different pieces and team them together – you have so much confidence when it comes to fashion and I envy that. I always stick to what I know, partly cos I have teenage girls who take the mick if I think outside the box a little lol!
Thanks Suzanne. I think I’ve just found what I like and what suits me to be honest. I don’t think I’m that confident just comfortable – and ignore those girls of yours. Send me outfit pictures!
I love your style KA you always look fab whatever you wear, I love Midi Skirts but they just don’t suit me at all, but they look fab on you. I am a huge lover of the blazer its so versatile x
Thanks lovely, I think in some ways I stick with what I know and then every now and again throw in something a little more out there x
YES!! So pleased that you’ve done this Kerri Ann. So often when I’m wandering around Topshop I think, ‘what would KA pick out?’
Far too often I just throw something on first thing before the school run and I miss putting together outfits, so I really must start making more of an effort. xx
Rocking it lady!!! More, more, more!!!! Loved watching this, you’re a natural and I love that cream H&M jumper, I had a similar one from Primark this winter. Well done xx
Aww thank you Heledd. I have the jumper & skirt on today x
I’ve always loved how varied your style is – dresses one day, skirts and jumpers the next, then jeans! I literally live in the same old things day in, day out and really need some style inspiration. That polka dot dress looks fantastic on you – the length really suits you. And pink and grey together really suits your colouring as well – I always think you look beautiful in the outfit you were wearing in the video.
Aww thank you, I do seem to dip in and out of styles but I love them all equally. You’re such a sweetheart, thanks so much for the support x
