September really has been a wonderful month, full of new beginnings, little and big family adventures and lets not forget the change in seasons which despite loving summer I really do love Autumn. In some respects I feel like I am in the middle of a love affair. For now my heart has been taken by the gorgeous colours of autumn although looking back on our September it has certainly brought back all those memories of long summer days at the beach, the sun kissing my skin, the smell of the sea and wearing nothing but sandals, them and clothes of course. The boots are certainly in full swing now.
All that said I can’t help but feel like September has flown by. Of all the months this year this one in particular has whizzed by which in some respects makes me a little sad. So much has happened this month that I want to hold on to for a little longer. We have had oodles of fun as a family, so many days out and blanket picnics to fill your heart. Despite worrying about the summer holidays and how we would all cope with summer clubs and splitting our holidays and then the return to school and work it really has been a wonderful month.
We have made so many wonderful memories and thankfully captured most on camera too, which we have displayed in a photo wall in our kitchen. This is now my happy place, I have found Lil G looking up at the wall on many occasion which is exactly why I wanted to display our photo’s. Mr H has already joked that when I have disappeared he has found me with a cup of tea in hand smiling at the wall and just left me as he knows how much this space means to me. Photo’s have the same affect on me as music does on him. They are so powerful, the ability to transport you back to a moment in time and wash away all the worries us adults sometimes have.
September has now become a month of new beginnings, possibly even more so than January. Scratch that, September is the new January. It started with the end of our first family beach holiday outside of the UK, very quickly followed by Lil G becoming a Year 1 pupil and the return to work for Mr H and I. Our gorgeous boy has adapted so well to school and has even come home with copious stickers and two merit certificates. I feel so proud of him and quite overwhelmed with how much he is enjoying school. This is his year, I strongly believe that he was too young last September, already at the end of week four he is flourishing and the happiest little boy.
Our little rock star has also started drumming lessons, he has his third lesson today and I feel so excited for him. I always played an instrument when I was young and I think it is a great way of expressing yourself, he makes me so proud of how much he immerses himself into learning new things. I had my blog redesigned at the beginning of the month and have started a new IG community #MyFamilyAdventures which is something I have thought about for a little while. I do hope you’ll consider joining in by sharing your family adventures whether big or small. Mr H has made a start at getting back on track with his running. He finds out in October if he has a place in the London Marathon, I really hope he does as sadly he has missed out the last 4 years.
And so as we move on into October, here are a few family photo’s from our September…
