The summer holidays, what a wonderful surprise you were. So very unexpected. Full of love, adventure and so much laughter. For a moment there we were a little worried about how you would unfold. On reflection we had nothing to worry about at all. Lil G coped so well with six weeks of juggling child care, time spent apart as a family whilst Mr H and I separated our holidays, days and weeks of going between childcare and Nanny’s. We chose the perfect way to spend the last week of the holidays together, escaping to a warmer climate, lazy days on the beach and lots of scrumptious food. Our first family holiday outside of the UK.
We truly immersed ourselves in our little family bubble and I’m certain we became closer as a family because of it. Our first holiday left me feeling all gooey inside and my mummy heart was filled with so much love. The break together was truly wonderful and what better way to spend our days than feeling the sand in our toes. Ever since Lil G started school, the week’s and months seem to fly by and with both Mr H and I working full-time we were really looking forward to the 10 days together as a family. No distraction, no work (well maybe a little), no phones, that’s a complete lie but I did try.
And so, over the last few days we have been looking back through my camera roll at all the adventures we had during the summer holidays and I can’t help but think that we need a way of remembering all of the fun we had together. We started a photo wall at the beginning of the summer and today we printed more photo’s to add to that wall.
Things to remember from our summer… long walks in the sunshine, bright blue skies, lazy Sunday picnics, beach days, riding a Ferris wheel (which completely freaked me out), the sound of laughter as Lil G hid in the maize maze, toasting marshmallows, watching the sunrise and lastly exploring a new country, Spain you were beautiful.
Here are a few of my favourite photo’s from our summer adventures…
All I can say is roll on December 16th when we finish for our next little family holiday. This time no sun, but there will be a Mickey Mouse and a Goofy! Eek. How did you spend your summer holidays?

Holidays are a great way to bring families together aren’t they; I do think that it’s a lovely way to reconnect and enjoy each others company again. A photo wall is such a good idea. You have some amazing photos and to have them printed out for all to see is a wonderful, vivid way to remember your holidays
Lovely post
