Capturing family life was a mission I set myself as the year opened. We all sat down together on New Years Day and wrote a little list of the adventures we wanted to have as the year unfolded and I’m pleased to say we are ticking them off nicely, well the boys are! Mr H is doing very well indeed with his list, with all but one ticked off and what a difference those changes have made. Lil G’s list will be almost complete this half-term as we’re off to the beach for a couple of days to run in the sand dunes and ride Dino the donkey, and so there really just leaves me. Lists are meant to be broken right? Two out of six so far for me, I think I need to try a little harder, with seven months to go I’m feeling positive. Have you looked back at your resolutions?
With a new fancy camera from Mr H on Christmas Day, there really is no excuse and with five months and one photography course under my belt, I really am enjoying capturing our little family life. Whilst I have always snapped away on my iPhone, and still do, I wanted something more from my photo’s. The extra detail, the fancy settings, I knew I wanted to capture as many moments of our little family life as possible as well as all the other little pretty things that make me smile. Whether it’s the trips to the park, kicking a ball, a lazy morning catching up on missed snuggles after a busy work week or pretty flowers, so far I think I am winning.
Looking back through my camera roll for May has been lovely this morning. I can’t help but smile at all the days out we have had, the smiles from Lil G, I can hear the laughter through the photos and for this reason alone I will continue to capture these moments. Whether they are of lazy mornings when life gets busy or the fun filled family days out each photo is precious, each memory is one to be treasured. The perfect blend of family life for me is not forgetting those days at home when the only time we leave the house is to walk our furry baby.
And so here are our adventures in May, a little geocaching, a trip to Alton Towers, walking our furry baby and collecting cherry blossom, football after school in the evening sunshine, lazy Sunday mornings, a cheeky trip to GBK (Lil G’s favourite) for burgers & milkshakes, boat trips on the lake at Trentham Gardens (which was more stressful than fun), heading out on our bikes at Manifold Valley (the best day of the month) followed by our first family BBQ of 2016 where we toasted marshmallows, yum. To the month of May, you have been beautiful, at times some rather ordinary adventures but all the same some perfect family memories have been made. I love that Lil G loves the ordinary moments as much as we do.
Here are a few a lot of photo’s of our adventures…
That’s a wrap, and so chapter 5/12 passes us by. We have a fun filled June ahead of us as our gorgeous boy turns 5 years old so I am really looking forward to capturing our adventures in June. Each month has some similarities but also some new adventures which always leave a smile on our gorgeous boys face. Bring on June.
How was your May?
KA x
Beautiful photos KA, it looks you have had such a wonderful May with lots of adventures. He looks so grown up in his football kit. Cant believe we are nearly in June, time really flies when you are having fun. X
Thank you. Looking back the month has been lovely. I know what you mean, the days and years are flying by indeed. June is a wonderful month x

Aww thank you lovely. So nice to meet you. That’s what I love about looking back is that you get to remember the little moments often forgotten x
I never make New Year resolutions, but do like to set myself goals throughout the year. I too got a big girls camera for Christmas, and have only just signed up for an online photography course, which I can’t wait to find the time to start.
Your captured moments are fab, I love the angle of the photo of the mushroom like fairground ride. Different.
xx
The best thing I did was sign up to Emily’s Makelight course, so inspiring. x
Your photos are always lovely and gorgeous and this outing looks amazing. The food looks glorious! So perfect! #wotw
Aww thank you, its all about the food 🙂 x
Oh KA I totally LOVE this post!! I may have to copy the idea because it’s just so lovely to have a post full of your monthly memories. Also, one word ‘YUM’ I’m now feeling very hungry and need that burger, milkshake and toasted marshmallow in my life! : )
Thank you so much for joining in with #MyCapturedMoment xxx
Aww thank you my love. I’m so glad I started it. The milkshakes are soooo GOOD x
I use Twinderelmo’s monthly link up to keep on top of my desires for getting stuff done. The best thing is to look things up in advance and schedule them in. Make sure you take some time for yourself. Those marshmallows? look rather tasty. #MyCapturedMoment
I’m very lucky to squeeze lots of me time in. The marshmallows are scrummy
