Life Lately {The Moments in Between}

It’s been a little while since I wrote a life lately post. I’d forgotten just how much I love to write them. To scroll back through my camera roll, to find those moments in between. The ones that often aren’t shared. Life has slowed down somewhat the last two weeks with George hurting his wrist. So whilst we’re free from running between football training, I’m relishing enjoying a quiet moment or two.

And so, I thought I’d take some time to write.

I love taking photos and lately I’ve really enjoyed picking up the camera. As the weekends have mainly been rained off so have my opportunities to snap away. On a couple of recent blue sky days we’ve managed to escape sometimes together as a family, other times just George and I. Which for different reasons has been so so lovely. The boys know how much I love to play with my camera and often on days out they are happy to leave me whilst I play.

Despite not being at George’s football matches right now our usual evenings and weekends are filled with muddy boots, football strips and goals. Mainly joyful moments from the team as they make awesome passes which lead to a goal or seven. Celebrations as matches are won. Commiserations when games are lost. Chocolate treats always help. Watching George play football and improve his game and technique each week makes us so proud. His commitment to the game is fascinating to watch. He is amazing.

Mr H decided to redecorate our hallway. He’s been looking to change the colour for a few months now and with a little push from our friends (dam you Marc and Rach) he went off in hunt for sample pots. I will be honest and say that I’m still not sure we chose the right colour, it’s growing on me. Flanders Blue. As we live in a Victorian property our hallway is long, narrow and with a high ceiling. I much prefer it being a light grey if I’m honest, although from the stairs I do like how the light shines on it.

And then there was half term. I managed to take a couple of days off and extended the first weekend which was lovely. It was just George and me as Mr H was away celebrating a friends birthday. But before the half term started my gorgeous George fell at School, on the last day of term no less – we’re still unsure if it’s broken. It was our first trip to Children’s A&E since he was very young, after spending so long in hospital when George was first born premature it still bothers me driving onto the hospital car park. My maternal instincts kick in and protective nature takes over. He is after all precious.

And so, here are my…
