This week I have been

This week I have been

Is there a spell to get an extra hour in bed tomorrow?

I’m still struggling a little with the weather if truth be told. Especially when the weekend was so lovely, bright blue skies and crisp winter mornings. So refreshing. And then to wake up most mornings this week to thick fog and mist. Never mind the week is nearly over now. The weekend is indeed in sight. I’m really looking forward to two days of family time.

How has your week been?

It’s been a pretty great week here. There has been balance, busy days and evenings, down time, booking holidays and planning other events and breaks in the year. I have to say I do love that about January. It is a month of planning for us. This time last year we were so busy researching our trip to Florida. This year, we’re planning our May half term holiday with Eurocamp – we’re off to Domaine des Ormes campsite in Brittany. We worked with Eurocamp last summer when we visited La Vallee in Normandy. It’s so lovely to be working with them again.

And so this week I have been…

Wearing

Dresses and boots. My go to get up at this time of year. Although I cannot wait until I can wear my dresses with bare ankles. Still feels like a little while off just yet. I’ve actually fallen back in love with black, for years I’ve enjoyed wearing colour and have avoided black as the main colour. More recently I have found myself reaching for it, whether clothing or my coats. Black is the new…

Watching

Ooh Silent Witness is back on. So Mr H and I have been indulging of an evening and catching up as we started this latest season a little late. A friend said that it’s on something like it’s 23rd season. I couldn’t believe it. Have you seen it? At the weekend I watched the Hunger Games, it’s been so many years since I have seen the movies. Apparently Mr H thinks Fortnight is like the Hunger Games just in a game format. I don’t know. And then Cold Feet, it’s back and I’m so happy although I have to say this season already hasn’t started out to be one of my favourites.

Getting out together

It was so nice to wake up on Saturday morning to bright blue skies. The sun was shining, there was a frost on the ground and boy was it beautiful. A true winters day. We couldn’t help but go out for a little wander. It’s been maybe 4 years since we last visited this spot, Mow Cop Castle. Just a few miles from where we live. The views are incredible and it was so nice to quite literally feel the wind in our hair.

Photo styling

I’ve really been enjoying styling photos, making a list of fun photos I want to capture as well as outfit photos, landscape photos and more. It’s one of those me time moments for me. Always nice to download the images and see how things came out. My lovely friend Jenny gave me a new photo backdrop as part of my birthday presents and so I thought I’d have a little play around.

Always the best outfit Inspo from you KA.

What a great gift from Jenny, one of my biggest problems is taking photos, I still struggle with it massively, but I am hoping after treating Ashley to a new camera he can be my photographer 🙂

Lovely snaps KA, you always take great photos. I really want to get back into blogging ‘for me’ more this year, and that involves taking more photos and making it a hobby again. Love your outfit with the red dress!

I’ve been struggling with the weather too, I’m ready for spring. I love Cold Feet, but I agree so far this series hasn’t had the same impact. I still love it though x
