This week I have been…

This week I have been…

I say this week but I’m a little late in pushing last week’s post out. My weekend away with the girls may have something to do that.

Well, it was a week of getting back into things. Of reminding ourselves of the daily and weekly routine, the sound of an alarm in the mornings, bedtime and checking my email for updates from School. Gosh they come thick and fast don’t they. How was your week?

Has anyone else found it really tough getting back into things? It’s not through lack of motivation or sadness that the break is over. It’s just really dark and gloomy and I’ve had a horrible cough and cold since the middle of December. The break over Christmas helped as we didn’t need to move about early in the mornings. Slow starts were one of my favourite things from the festive break.

And so this week I have been…

Celebrating…

It was my 40th birthday two weekends ago now. If you’ve seen me posting over on Insta you may already be aware *inserts smiley face*. I spent my actual birthday weekend celebrating with my boys and out for drinks and a meal with friends. It was low key, very intimate and perfect. Especially as I have my weekend with the girls next weekend. The boys took me off to a lovely tearoom which was such a nice surprise. I think we’ll go back in the Spring as I can imagine it’s even more beautiful in the sunshine.

Wearing…

Dresses, skirts, boots, cosy jumpers and of course sequins. And my Dr Martens – I have quite literally worn them with everything. That and my new trainers that Mr H popped in my Christmas stocking. He buys the best gifts. I am really enjoying my wardrobe lately, more so than usual at this time of year. When I’m ready to start thinking about Spring. But for now

Watching…

After binge watching You Series 2 which quite frankly disturbs me I am now watching Newsroom on NOW TV. It’s easy viewing for sure but really interesting as it’s set in a newsroom in New York. One of my favourite cities. I love the cast, some superb actors including Dev Patel. What are you watching? Mr H is really into his cooking shows again, I think at this time of year we seem to watch them more as we enjoy cooking hearty food on weekends for all the family to enjoy.

Getting ready…

Well, I mean every girl needs to get ready for a weekend away with the girls right. They have been chatting in a private whatsapp group so I’m a little nervous but also they know me well. I’m really looking forward to the break, the chats, the giggles, the Gin Fizz, heading out for food and the woodlands around our lodge. We’re staying at Darwin Forest, as I work with them on collaborations I have been lucky enough to do the same and this time share it with my girls which is very special.

Making plans…

We have started to think about our holidays for 2020. We’re thinking of France, Spain and possibly a trip back over to America. Exciting times. I think we’ll be holidaying at different times to last year to suit our plans. And definitely hoping to get some October sunshine. I always find it a hard time of year to adjust to. Where are you off to this year? Have you started to book time away?

And that’s this week’s I have been post. It’ll be this week’s turn in a flash. See you shortly.
