Tis the season… for decorating

Tis the season… for decorating

Hello December. Time to make some magic.

I’ll mainly be dusting off my Christmas mugs, drinking hot chocolate, eating mince pies and tinkering with twinkling lights. We couldn’t wait until the weekend of December 1st. I’ve never had any self control when it comes to Christmas. And last weekend I quite literally spent from Friday evening through to Sunday sprinkling festive magic throughout the Hargreaves household. What better way to spend the weekend.

We are ready. Christmas is coming. We are waiting for Christmas. It’s December, and we’re officially in the festive spirit.

I have honestly got no self control when it comes to Christmas. We have been collecting baubles, decorations and lights for almost 15 years, visiting a garden centre at this time of year has never been so much fun. We really do have a wonderful collection. With different colours and themes for the different rooms we decorate, I guess you could say we take it seriously. Do you love to decorate your house at Christmas time?

And so we decorated the house. Room by room, we transformed our home into a winter wonderland. It feels blooming lovely. Festive. Joyful. Magical. It’s a family affair. Mr H sets up the trees, he helps me to light them up, he organises the baubles and decorations. George takes control of the music. And so, with a festive playlist playing in the background I set about decorating. One bauble at a time. It takes several hours but seeing the rooms come together really does make me smile.

As it brings so much joy to our little family I wanted to share that with you. It’s a family tradition. One that I hope follows George for many years. And so I am recording it here. Because isn’t what this little online space is all about. This is my first entry into the festive diary for Chapter 12 of 2019. This Chapter feels really good.

I give you our little family home at Christmas time…
