Cosy pub lunches, Feeling Festive & Shopping Your Wardrobe {Weekly Round up}

It’s that time of the week.

My weekly round up and this week it is all about – Cosy pub lunches, Feeling Festive & Shopping Your Wardrobe. I won’t lie guys I am really getting into the festive spirit. This weekend will only add to that but I would go as far as to say that the excitement is building. I cannot wait for December 1st to arrive so that we can decorate our trees. In other news, can we just discuss how cold it is? Oh my goodness, standing on the sidelines at George’s football training on Monday and Tuesday was something else. To think that I had bare ankles at the weekend and then on Monday the temperatures just dropped. Although I am really enjoying wrapping up in hats and scarfs. There’s something so cosy about a winters day all wrapped up drinking a hot coffee.

And so, lets delve into last weeks little loves…

Last weekend…

We had such a lovely slow weekend. Much needed as from this one on they get pretty busy indeed. On Saturday we drove out to a Vintage Inns Country Pub as part of a collaboration. It was actually one of ‘our’ pubs before George arrived. What a gorgeous setting and so lovely to be back there – Three Crowns, Stone. And oh my goodness the desert platter was mouthwatering. And my lamb shank was quite simply the best comfort food. I don’t know about you but at this time of year I just want to find a corner in a cosy pub and be waited on. If you’re local then you can enjoy 50% off mains by downloading this offer.

And then Sunday, festive in so many ways. We did a little more Christmas shopping, took a Reindeer selfie which made George smile. Played Santa whilst George wasn’t looking. Watching George pick out toys, asking us to add them to his list – its so magical. Then he’s left wondering if they will arrive on Christmas morning. Each year I wonder if the magic will be as much as the previous year – and each year I’m amazed at the levels of excitement. I do hope this lasts for a few more years yet. I fear not but I do hope that in some way we can keep the magic going.

Wore…

I am shopping my wardrobe more and more lately. I stumbled across a mint green jumper at the back of my wardrobe that I have hardly worn. So, I thought why not dye it. I have been looking for a black jumper for a little while and so I went for it. Well here it is and I’m really happy with it. It’s more Charcoal Grey than Black but looks well with my dress. You just have to be careful with the material to ensure that the dye takes, which I think is partly the reason for mine not being completely black.

Although I’m shopping less lately what with trying to be sensible and topping up the savings pot for our Florida trip I have been having a little look around the high street. I can’t help it at this time of year. So, I’ve updated my Style Loves page with some of my favourite bits from Zara. I’m hoping to add a few more this weekend as there really are some gorgeous clothes available at this time of year. Although looking at clothes really isn’t where I should be spending my time as I just want to go shopping.

Watched…

It has to be I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. I do love the show. And I’m really enjoying watching Dec & Holly presenting together. Lovely chemistry on screen. Are you watching? I’m really enjoying watching Harry Redknapp and Nick Knowles – as well as looking forward to seeing how the camp develops when they bring in new personalities like Noel Edmonds. We’re off to see Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald over the weekend. Have you seen it?

Festivities…

We have some lovely trips planned over the next few weeks to celebrate the season (of course). Kicking off this weekend with one of my favourite weekends of the year. We’re off to the Christmas Tree Farm as it opens to choose our trees. I do love stomping through the farm in search of the biggest festive bush. And then we’re off to our local Wyevale Garden Centre as we’re working with them to promote their festive celebrations. And then it’s December and we have The Nativity at the Theatre (sparkle and shine), as well as the Ice Village and the Christmas Markets in Manchester to look forward to. And lastly our Christmas Eve tradition of going to our local Pantomime. Oh I do have all the festive feels.

      Yes me too and I love Holly and Dec working together. She just adds something for sure. Yay for festive joy. I was really surprised how easy the dying was if I’m honest.

    Your pics are so beautiful. That pub looks gorgeous, as does the food. Nothing like a cosy country pub with amazing food. Dyeing your jumper was a fantastic idea! I’d end up dyeing myself, the jumper and half the house if I attempted it no doubt. I’ve caught the odd bit of I’m a Celeb. I was quite surprised Noel was booted out so early x
