A new coat, coffee dates & autumnal days {Weekly roundup}

And relax.

What a week it has been. I have been full of cold and really struggled to function this week. I’ve only managed three training sessions and had hoped to fit in another this morning (Saturday) but my chest just isn’t quite there. I do dislike being poorly but on a positive note, I am going to enjoy my slow start instead and then join Mr H poolside to watch george in his swimming lesson which I don’t usually get to do.

What else can I tell you about this week? Last weekend we were treated to gorgeous autumnal weather and made the most of it by being outdoors. This week… It didn’t rain as much as I thought so I managed to do both school runs without getting wet. We enjoyed a trip to the park after school on Thursday which George always loves, and we scooted which is his all time favourite mode of transport. Well it is at the minute!

And so, join me in this weeks little loves… (do you have coffee & cake?)

Finally my Red Mag arrived, only 10 days later than usual. Apparently they had a problem getting it out to subscribers, not to the shops though ey! Very cheeky indeed. Already I’m in love with the front cover, very 70’s don’t you think?

We’re watching Strangers at the minute which is a new series so we’re back in the routine of watching one episode a week. I much prefer a binge series where we can just keep moving on to the next episode! Have you seen it? Mr H and I watched a film called The Commuter last night with Liam Neeson. I wasn’t sure at first but as with any movie with him in it I quickly became committed to seeing it through. Very dramatic and full of mystery.

Mr H has been making all the food treats this week. Last weekend started with big fluffy pancakes, crispy bacon and maple syrup followed by one of my favourites for a Sunday evening – a fancy version of a roast chicken. I’ll have to pop back with a link to the recipe. He has some lovely treats planned for this weekend, the change in season has definitely stepped up his inspiration to cook gorgeous home comforts.

i made pretty pictures…

My snugly new coat. I am working with River Island on their A/W campaign and was very kindly gifted this coat and jumper. I’ve written a post about these two gorgeous pieces if you fancy popping over for a snoop. I fell in love with the colours, ordinarily I wasn’t going to put the two together but I think they work well. The lovely Chloe took these photos of me just after we’d enjoyed a little catch up over a hot chocolate & coffee.

In complete contrast on Sunday I wore my pink coat and really enjoyed toughening it up with a big chunky cosy knit. Oh Autumn you do bring out the best in my wardrobe.

And lastly…

We don’t really have any plans this weekend. We were meant to be having a family photoshoot on Saturday, working with a local photographer on a little collaboration but sadly the weather is not being kind. Instead I feel we will be spending some time indoors, playing in Georges playroom, cooking and definitely a trip to the cinema. A weekend taking things slowly sounds just perfect to me. Cocooned in our little family bubble is just where I want to be right now.

Have a great weekend and see you on the other side.

      It took a little while to get into. I just love how he turned it around and ultimately showed that goodness in people is still there despite doing it for the money initially.
