Summer vibes, Sunday Lunching & Birkenstocks...

Summer vibes, Sunday lunching with my boys and my first pair of Birkenstocks. Add to that watching the football at our local cricket club, a day trip to Alton Towers on Sunday and George’s new school uniform arriving. What a blooming great week. Is anyone else dreaming of 3 month long summers for the rest of our days? These last 3 months have been so lovely, not having to worry about layers or footwear, and truly immersing myself in my summer clothes. Yes to more of the same. Although as I write this post grey clouds have filled our skies and there is threat of rain. And whilst I don’t disagree that the plant-life will indeed smile at a sprinkling I for one miss the blue skies.

Dare I say it but life feels good at the minute. Everything seems to be falling in to place for all of us and with the summer holidays soon arriving George is excited for his holiday clubs. I’m in the right frame of mind with my training. Love Island continues to monopolise my evenings which means I’m struggling to find the time to write over here on the blog. We are officially on holiday countdown and simply cannot wait until August 17th, Espana here we come.

Days Out…

We certainly are making use of our Merlin Passes at the moment, and as we live so close to Alton Towers we keep nipping over for 9am on a Sunday morning to get on a few rides before disappearing at lunch time when the queues are unmanageable. George is addicted to riding The Wickerman and Thirteen at the minute. I even managed to jump on Rita last weekend although I have decided I won’t do it again, gosh it was fast. As the years go by I seem to be losing my nerve and happy just to sit and wait for the boys. Is it just me? If you’re thinking of visiting Alton Towers I have a post with my Top Tips on if you fancy a snoop.

Dining out…

On our way home from Alton Towers on Sunday we stopped off at one of our favourite pubs – Alton Bridge Hotel. Its at the bottom of a valley, has a river running alongside and a gorgeous seating area outside with a green for little ones to play on. It really is a gorgeous spot and the pub food is pretty great too. I will never tire of eating out in such pretty places as a family, its one of those little things that I’m grateful for. George used to be a little fussy thing with his food but from the age of about 4 years old we have really enjoyed just stopping off somewhere nice on a whim.

Its all about the sandals at the minute. I genuinely cannot even wear my trainers it is that hot. For the last three years I have lived in my Rose Gold Saltwater Sandals, they are so comfy and so in turn I tend to wear them with everything. Although, I may have purchased a new pair of sandals this week, ones I have been wanting for a little while but for some reason hadn’t quite taken the plunge. I am now the proud own er of a pair of Birkenstocks and quite literally I am as happy as a pig in mud. They make me so happy.

The sunshine…

Hasn’t it been lovely? For as long as I can remember the sun has shone and I for one love it. We’ve watched the football at our cricket club, enjoyed alfresco dinners and walks in the park. We enjoyed every last moment of the sunshine on Sunday evening. A few steps away from our house there is a field and so on Sunday evening as the sun was dropping we took George across with his football. This boy is never happier than when he is practising his ball skills. It was so blooming lovely, the light at this time of night always makes me smile. I hope to do it all again this weekend.

And that’s this week’s little loves. We just have a bit of pottering about, drumming lesson and a birthday party this weekend. Hopefully on Sunday we’ll go off in search of some fun and have more moments to share with you next week. Have a great week.

We love Alton Towers too, I just wish we were a little bit closer. I’ve definitely lost my nerve for the big rides as I’ve got older. I used to love them so much. I love your Birkenstocks, I look at these every summer and have never taken the plunge x

Alton Towers is a super day out for sure. I’m so glad I picked them up as they are super comfy and just add something to an outfit.

I love your Salt Water sandals they are so pretty, I know what you mean my feet have been soooooo hot. Our boys have never been to Alton Towers I am going to have to take them at some stage I think they would like it, but you know what its like when there is always something to do to keep you busy. Joe is the same so happy when he is playing football x

Aww they are a great sandal, an investment but they do last. You really do need to make your way over here, such a great fun day out although the queues in the holidays will mean you don’t get on much sadly. x
