A lavender meadow, moving up day & a box of treats...

A lavender meadow on Monday, moving up day on Wednesday & a box of treats for some much needed me time…

What a busy couple of weeks it has been. On the one hand I found myself savouring every last moment before our gorgeous boy turned 7 years old and the next we were walking him to Junior School for his moving up day. Oh my goodness, time really does pass you by as soon as you become a parent. I think its because you literally count down weeks, months and years. And for that reason I will forever be the one taking photo’s, popping them on our photo wall and quite literally capturing the moments for us to look back on.

I’m feeling just a little overwhelmed about this next stage although I should say that he is super happy and full of excitement for Year 3, wearing a shirt and tie. Wow, the School is so much bigger, with sports fields surrounding the building, split over two sites and new rules. A lot of rules.

I got out of the habit of writing a weekly round up and if truth be told I have missed scrolling back through my camera roll. And so as a reminder of all the little things and quite possibly big things that have made me smile I thought I would start writing them down. So here goes, all the things that have made me smile this week…

Family…

Can you believe the end of the School year is upon us. As I write this post there is only two weeks remaining of the term before the summer break and my boy taking a huge step up to Junior School. I’m just so grateful that it is a feeder school so that he gets to make the move with his friends. And whilst the School is much bigger with lots of different rules to get used to they really do seem to be so very friendly. The Head Teacher seems to have a great personality and from just two visits we have a little boy who is very excited for Year 3. He had a little wobble on moving up day, we have a very sensitive little boy on our hands and despite waking feeling so excited walking into the big hall was just a little overwhelming for him. Thankfully he had

Wore…

All the summer gear. Isn’t it just lovely to be able to wear your summer wardrobe for more than say a holiday? Than 2 weeks year. And do you know what everything is from my ‘old summer wardrobe’. I’m so proud of myself, for not hitting the summer sales. I won’t lie it has been a real struggle, I’ve actually had to stay away from the Zara website as I would have popped something in my basket. I’ve been put on a spending ban by Mr H so everything you see is reinvented which I wrote about about here.

Days out…

Last weekend we ventured down to LEGOLAND & Windsor as part of George’s birthday celebrations. In the boys words it was AWESOME. We had such a great two days, made all the better by the Q-Bot’s we were very kindly gifted by the team. I’ll be writing up a full post on our weekend away but it is safe to say that we LOVE LEGOLAND and cannot wait until we go back again. Although I do think that next year could be our last year as my thrill-seeking son says the rides are a little too babyish for him. Oh my goodness, the BIG rides here we come. I’ll leave you with some of the photo’s from our Digi-pass. I’m so glad we have this for the next year, so great to have these memories isn’t it? (Spot the big kid)

Beauty…

A little box arrived for me in the post from the lovely Rebecca, the founder of Mumsy Box. How gorgeous does it look, right up my street being pink and full of my favourite things – chocolate, tea bags, the most gorgeous smelling facial wash and lets not forget the bath salts. The perfect me time box for a girlfriend or new mum or even just as a gift for yourself, what do you think? I love the idea behind it, you sign up to a monthly subscription for £10 per month and sit tight whilst 6 products are hand selected and sent of to you. I’ve actually saved the box for flat lays as it’s just so pretty and of course pink! All that is left to do is enjoy some ‘me time’. We all need a bit of that don’t we?

It looks like another gorgeous weather weekend ahead. I am off to a wedding on Friday evening for one of my team at the office. I am so excited to see him all grown up with his bride. I do love a summer wedding, they’re always so much fun and that relaxed vibe from enjoying the celebrations in the sunshine. Have a great week guys.

I’d love to take my girls to Legoland but unfortunately it’s rather pricy for a family of 6, maybe one day. I’m loving being in summer clothes, I always manage to reuse previous years clothes and I’m always happy when I still manage to fit in them! Hope you enjoy the wedding.

I can imagine any trip would be expensive for a family of 6. You can definitely get ticket offers for entry. We invest in the Merlin passes every year which allows us to go across the country having fun. A good investment.

Ah George looks so grown up KA, and a very happy 7th birthday to him. Legoland looks so much fun, and it bought back memories when we used to take my 2 when they were younger, it’s a great park isn’t it. Exciting times for George moving up into Junior school and wearing a shirt and tie. We didn’t get to that stage until they went to high school, and I can only imagine how cute he is going to look in his new uniform. Enjoy the wedding x

The star wars is incredible, we didn’t spend as much time in that area as we would usually as the boys just wanted to get on the rides. x

The Q-bots were a god send in this heat and on such a busy day. Highly recommend them despite the cost it would be worth it, even if for just a couple of family members if you are happy to split the group. The wedding was lovely thank you x

We love Legoland, it’s not too far from us and we’ve spent a lot of time there this year with our Merlin passes. I love the photos, they really capture the moment. Alice has 1 more year before she moves up to the juniors school, I think she will be the same, equally excited and a bit overwhelmed x

It is a great place for under 10’s. I think it really is the best way to enjoy the parks. x
