And just like that all the blossom has fallen to the ground. Is anyone else sad about that? I guess you could say that as one bloom falls another rises – in a few days time I’ll be celebrating roses, peonies and one of my favourites hydrangea. I don’t know about you but other than the obvious like lighter mornings and longer days there’s something about the month of May that really makes me smile. There just seems to be so much colour filling the trees and streets around me at this time of the year that I can’t help but smile as I step out of a morning.
Each year my May camera roll is filled with cherry blossom from the trees around us. I can’t resist collecting up all the fallen petals and if I’m lucky a huge branch has come lose which I can runaway with. They do make pretty floor selfies and of course in some way I’m doing it for the ‘gram’ but mostly creating images like the one below allow me to let my creativity flow. Escaping into a room with flowers and my camera are definitely one of my favourite things to do in May.
I have added this post to Darren’s #MySundayPhoto over on his blog Photalife.
