Last weekend we escaped to the Southern Lake District for a long weekend to celebrate our friend turning 40. We stayed at the gorgeous and ever so dreamy location of Longlands Cartmel – I simply cannot put into words how breath-taking the views were, the property, our little a-joining cottage and local area was. And so when we woke on Saturday morning to the perfect Spring morning, the sum beaming through the trees, the grass glistening from the dew and the brightest of blue skies I popped the kettle on, picked up my camera and head out to explore the grounds.
There was so much prettiness around me, the sound of sheep and their babies, the birds and well just nature wakening around me. I have so many photos on my camera roll that will keep me going should I a) never return to the area (now wouldn’t that be sad) and b) wake to a morning as beautiful as this.
We stayed in one of the a-joining cottages as I had spied that it was the only one with an old stable type door leading out into this area (first photo). I am so glad that we did as oh my goodness was my breath taken away when I stepped out. For a moment there I had to put my camera to one side, sit down on the old rickety wooden chair and just breathe. That moment I will remember for a very long time.
I have added this post to Darren’s #MySundayPhoto over on his blog Photalife.
