When my local Intu Potteries tasked me with hitting the shops in search of the latest Spring/Summer trends I couldn’t resist getting involved. You know me guys always in seek of my next fashion buy, my next go to outfit and what better time to shop than when the rails are filled with pastel shades, gorgeous floaty fabrics and strappy numbers. I adore this time of year, fashion is so much fun, even more so when the sun is shining and the promise of a sun filled weekend.
I was asked to cover one the the trends Sparkle & Shine which the shopping centre has taken inspiration from the catwalks for SS18, and so I took myself off in search of clothes which I could fit into my wardrobe. I won’t lie, I had a fun couple of hours and have really enjoyed wearing the outfits since. Since becoming a mummy ad not always having an endless shopping budget, one of the key factors for me is to seek out pieces of clothing that are wearable everyday, can fit into my mum-style, are practical yet fashionable. At this time of year I like to buy clothes that take me right the way through Spring and Summer as well as from day to night and more importantly can be paired with other items in my wardrobe.
I won’t lie for me sparkles only come out of my wardrobe at Christmas-time and so join me as I take my take on the colours and fabrics which are shining for me at this time of year. For those of you that know me well, know that I adore pastel shades and so I thought I would show you what I picked up from one of my favourites stores, H&M. Every girls needs a pleated skirt, and so I give you my new favourite, a little pastel green number which I am quite literally in love with and cannot wait to bring it out for another outing this weekend. Worn with a slogan tee, a thin knit and for that casual look a pair of trainers. A go to outfit for me at this time of year, and one I can definitely dress up at night with a pair of heels.
Another staple for your wardrobe at this time of year is a white camisole and a fine knit, two trends which H&M do so well and each year I update my favourites which is exactly what I did on my shopping trip. I wear this grey knit all year round and so when I saw that it was back in store I couldn’t resist updating my collection. You can never have enough grey in your life. I can’t get through these early days of Spring without a lighter knit and grey is one of those colours that is timeless, always in my wardrobe. And then, a white cami. What can I say, a must for this time of year and perfect for going from day to night, after work drinks or even worn under a blazer for a more relaxed look.
And there you have it, a little spring style update from me. What are you favourites looks to wear in Spring?
If you are local then I would definitely pop into the shopping centre to see how they have added a little flower power to the top floor. You will find 5 mannequins dressed in gorgeous flowers by Natalie’s Florist, each representing a different key trend for spring/summer. And, they have a blooming lovely competition to guess how many flowers were used to dress on of the mannequins. One lucky winner will receive a £50 Intu Gift Card that be spent in over 70 shops and restaurants.
