New loafers, A weekend in the Lakes & a Beach Day with friends #LittleLoves

Are we really at the end of another week? I haven’t said this in a while but where is the year going? I can’t believe that we are about to enter May, we’re nearly half way through the year guys which also means thats we are getting closer to George’s 7th birthday. Let it be said that I am not quite ready for June to arrive. Oh my goodness where is the time going. On another note, it was lovely spending a day at the beach this week and the weekend with friends, by the second night I was pining for our gorgeous George and decided not to drink so that we could set off before 9am on the Sunday. Don’t get me wrong its important to have a little bit of me time, time together and with our friends and of course turning 40 is a big deal so I am glad that we get this time away but it doesn’t stop me missing him. I really missed him, who wouldn’t he’s blooming gorgeous.

And so, grab a coffee and join me for this week’s little loves…

As I arrived home on Thursday to pick up my boy from School I noticed that my Red Mag had arrived through the post. One of my favourites is on the cover and then I saw Clemmie, Mother of Daughters had written an article on body confidence. I think this month’s issue is shaping up to be a great read. I’m really looking forward to catching up on all that’s new in the world of Red this weekend.

Friends making memories. Last weekend we escaped to a little village in the Southern Lake District called Cartmel, it was so beautiful. We were celebrating Phil’s 40th birthday (bottom left) with a huge group of friends in the most gorgeous property. It had so many rooms all decorated with ornate fittings and some beautiful paintings hanging on the walls. All traditionally dressed. Simon and I stayed in a small cottage which attached to the property, it had some stunning features and if truth be told it has cemented the idea that our next home will be a cottage. I’ll be sharing some photos from our stay in another post.

Laughter, so much laughter. It was so nice to have finally met up with these lovely ladies, we’ve been arranging days together for nearly a year now and sadly with work commitments I have missed the last two. It was a real treat to spend a few hours with them, albeit hiding in our hut from the rain! We chatted about all things blogging, social, collaboration, parenting, fashion, travel and so much more. Just a blooming brilliant day. And just look at Jenny’s bump…

A little video of our stay at Darwin Forest. I’ve also written a post about our stay which includes my top tips for visiting the park as well as what we did outside of the park. Do pop over for a snoop if you fancy or even if you are looking for days out in the Peak District. It goes without saying that we had a really lovely weekend and would highly recommend.

All the Spring outfits came out last weekend, I even wore a denim mini skirt without tights. How brave was I! It was so warm in the Lakes and I am delighted that I finally got to style this kimono, it is definitely going to be a favourite when the sunshine returns. I really adore this kimono, another Zara purchase which will be a keeper for sure. And oh my goodness let me tell you about these loafers, I have been going back and forth about ordering a pair for a few weeks and when I saw this pink leather version in Next I couldn’t resist. Granted black would be a little more versatile but you know me little loves crew I do love pink. And lastly my straw bag, I love this one from Sunshine and Shade, such a great alternative to the round hard baskets.

And lastly…

We have a weekend of being at home and not doing much else which we are all really looking forward to. We are all a little run down after fighting off a sore throat all week and really just looking forward to not being far from home. We do have one exciting event happening tomorrow, we are off to see the new Avengers movie. I am not sure who is more excited, we are all ready for the next movie but a little nervous of what might happen, apparently there is a big development which is set to shock fans. Have a great weekend and week ahead little loves crew.

I have added this post to Morgana’s #LittleLoves over on her blog Coffee, Work, Sleep, Repeat.

Love your kimono! Your weekend away sounds fab and that house looks gorgeous, what a wonderful place to stay. You all look like you had a great time at the beach, despite the weather. I definitely need to arrange a meet up with some local bloggers. Have a great time at the cinema x

What a lovely week you have had, and look at those blue skies in the Lake District. Your day at the beach hut looked lovely, despite the appalling weather. Though I think you would still have a great time in the cosy huts whether it was a sunny or snowy day. Ah making me want to book another trip there as we loved it last summer when we went with the kids x
